Abstract
Analyses the success of the library system in accomplishing its goals. Discusses the condition of the public libraries during the 1990s and their position within the larger context of bangalore' s urbanization. Describes the client population reached by the services, and assesses the ability of the library system to provide relevant sources and services. The methodology pursued here, resting on user evaluation, directly addresses the problem of client involvement in system development. The findings suggest directions for the management of change in the library and information systems.
