The Publication pattern, Relative Growth Rate (RGR), Doubling time (Dt), Country-wise distribution and Subject-wise papers of Cryptography published during 2000-2011 were analyzed. This bibliometric study was made using the data retrieved from the Web of Science (WoS) through the filter of the category in Cryptography as a subject search. A total number of 6610 records which were retrieved from the Web of Science was used to assess the academic productivity and distribution of research diversity of cryptography field from four major countries -China, USA, Taiwan and Japan which contributed more papers in cryptography and allied field of researches. The highest RGR is 0.44 in 2002 and Dt is 21.656 in 2008 measured during the period. China was the country with the highest productivity rare and the most-frequent partners among the collaborative papers at global level.Keywords

The paper examines the awareness of scholarly journals of the faculty members available through UGCINFONET. The study reveals various patterns of use by the Professors and Associate Professors for instance. Assistant professors use the resources for study purpose. The faculty members also get to acquire the guidance and experience for accessing the scholarly journal from the Library staff and from the senior faculty members. It is however found that lack of training for accessing is an obstacle in proper and full utilization of them. The paper has conducted a survey on use and access to electronic resources through the search facilities provided by the publishers for full text articles.Keywords

The study presents the field of Cardiology literature records retrieved form MEDLINE database for the period 1991-2010. This research shows that maximum number of records i.e. 829 was during 2000, followed by 826 in 2003 and 789 in 2002. Relative Growth Rate (RGR) and Doubling Time (Dt) were found to be an increasing and decreasing trend shown during the period of study. The paper reveals a study of the authorship pattern and collaborative research in the field of Cardiology. The study measures the performance based on several parameters, country annual growth rate and collaborative index. The degree of collaboration mean score is 0.70 and highest score is 0.88 in 1991 exhibits during the period of study.Keywords

The study has examined research growth, relative growth rate and doubling time of publications, institutionwise and ranking of authors in research productivity of Graph theory during 2004-2011. The average number of papers published per year was 910.75 during the period. The highest numbers of papers were published above thousand during the years 2009 to 2011. It is observed RGR has been increased and decreased from 2005 (0.113) to 2011 (0.057). On the other view of doubling time (Dt) has shows fluctuating trend from 2005 (6.132). Relative Growth Rate (RGR) was found to be a decreasing trend between 2005 and 2007 the decreasing trend between 2008 and 2011 shown during the period of study. The Doubling Time (Dt) has shown as fluctuating trend during the period of study. The result examined the author exponential growth using least squares excluding high productive authors and maximum likelihood method. Lotka's law is found to be applicable to graph theory research during the study period.Keywords

Quantitative analysis is carried out to identify the literature growth, authorship pattern, collaboration and journal distribution on Swine influenza disease research based on data obtained from Pubmed databases for a period from 2006-2010. A total of 2360 articles were downloaded from Pubmed database using the search term "Swine*" subjected to bibliometric data analysis techniques. Findings - A number of research questions pertaining to publication frequency, country, and institution productivity and collaborative were proposed and answered. Analysis shows that majority of the scientists preferred to publish research papers in multiple authorship. It also analyses the characteristics of most productive institutions, languages and journals.Keywords

This study examines the quantitative analysis of the productivity and characteristics of citations of Library and Information Science (LIS) publications during 2003-2012. A Total of 1942 contributions published and 12502 citations received in the LIS journals indexed in SSCI. 21.36% of citations were received in 2012. The top ranked authors, Bawden, B and Hjorland, B contributed 0.72% of papers out of which Hjorland, B cited 1.93% of articles. USA contributed 4.38% of papers and also received 24.85% of citations. It is followed by UK which contributed 9.99% of LIS research papers out of 9.68% of citations were received. Year-wise authors' productivity, Institution-wise position and ranking of journals with citations references are listed to indicate their productivity and degree of involvement in their publications of Library and Information Science research.Keywords
