Abstract

Explains the importance of bearings in modern industry. Defines bearing and shows that the (BC) 'D9k Bearing Production Engineering' has two (CC) 'D9kl Sliding bearing' and 'D9k2 Rolling bearing' which are themselves (BC) and gives a table of the first characteristics used as the basis for the classification of bearings. Shows the different parts of a bearing with the help of a diagram. Provides a tentative scheme for the classification of the subjects going with the (BC) 'D9k Bearing Production Engineering' for [1P]. Gives an alphabetical index to the schedule. Gives a classified list of twenty-seven examples classified according to the above scheme.

Abstract

Works out a Scheme for the Classification of the subjects going with the (BC) "D9c4 Nut Production Engineering". The schedules given are confined to (IP]- Gives a table of the 13 (QI) common to 'Screw', *Stud', 'Nut', 6 special to 'Screw', and 8 special to 'Nut1. The schedule given in this paper relates only to the S (QI) special to 'Nut'. Gives a list of 20 examples classified according to the above scheme.

Abstract

This paper is based on the data for 1963-64, which are the latest available. The estimate of the annual book fund is based on 200 advanced books, treatises, and reference books, and 100 learned periodicals, to be acquired for each of the main classes or groups of main classes of research. The total library fund needed by 52 universities believed to have research activities, is estimated for the Fourth Plan Period according to each of two Plan Models. According to Plan Model 2, the annual library fund required will be Rs 22 million. The annual book fund needed will be Rs 11 million. This does not include the library fund needed for teaching activities of  the universities.
