A Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a collection of nodes which have limited energy capabilities and these nodes can be mobile or stationary. These are spatially distributed autonomous sensors used to monitor physical and environmental conditions like temperature, pressure, sound and many more. It is also used to transmit data from various nodes to the sink. In this paper, WSN architecture, its applications, challenges and various routing protocols has been discussed.
