In addition to these direct relationships, the mediating effect of the personal competence of employees on the relationship between the Spiritual Quotient of the employees and their job satisfaction has also been explored. The primary Data collected through 376 commercial bank employees in the state of Punjab (India) has been analysed through regression and correlation analysis techniques. The results have proved that there is not only positive but a significant relationship between spiritual quotient of employees and all the seven indicators of personal competence i.e. interpersonal skills, decision making, adaptability, knowledge&skill, accountability, leadership skills and communication. The personal competence of employees further has a significant and positive relationship with their level of job satisfaction. Three indicators of personal competence i.e. interpersonal skills, decision making and adaptability have a positive and very strong correlation with Spiritual Quotient of employees whereas rest four have a positive, significant but moderate correlation with Spiritual Quotient of employees. The findings provide adequate support for the spiritual orientation of the employees as this will make the employees more competent and more satisfied with their jobs. 2016-12-01T00:00:00+00:00 https://www.i-scholar.in/index.php/jmr/article/view/135439 Transformational Leadership and Innovativeness:The Mediating Role of Organizational Learning 2017-02-09T08:19:25+00:00 Rahul Raj Kailash B. L. Srivastava The Role of transformational leadership in enhancing firm's innovativeness has become important to secure a sustainable competitive edge. This study attempts to explore this relationship by introducing organizational learning as a mediator. The data were collected from 321 participants belonging to public/government organizations in India through survey research using structured interview schedule. The findings confirm organizational learning to be an important factor that cannot be ignored if a firm wishes to enhance its innovative capability. Transformational leadership style promotes employees to accumulate tacit knowledge and use it productively, which is only possible when a firm develops the capacity to learn. This accumulated knowledge can further be utilized to enhance ability to anticipate the future and respond to customers' demands through products based on their innovation capability. The implications of the results for academics and practitioners are discussed. 2016-12-01T00:00:00+00:00 https://www.i-scholar.in/index.php/jmr/article/view/135453 Determining the Factors Influencing the Online Channel Adoption Intent among Insurance Agents 2017-02-09T08:19:25+00:00 Uma Maheshwari Uma Chandrasekaran The aim of this paper is to identify the factors that have an influence over the online channel adoption intent of the insurance agents on the basis of which a conceptual model can be developed and tested empirically. This study uses relevant variables from the existing literature and has also introduced new variables which will have an influence over the online channel adoption of the insurance agents. Nine factors had been identified through exploratory factor analysis and it's been found that training has been emerged as the most important factor of all the nine factors. Based on these factors a model can be developed to understand the interrelationships among the factors. 2016-12-01T00:00:00+00:00 https://www.i-scholar.in/index.php/jmr/article/view/135497 Asset Pricing Models, Cross Section of Expected Stock Returns and Financial Market Anomalies:A Review of Theories and Evidences 2017-02-09T08:19:25+00:00 Jitendra Mahakud Saumya Ranjan Dash This paper tries to review the theories and empirical evidences on various issues related to alternative capital asset pricing models. First it presents a brief review on various theories of capital asset pricing models followed by the review of the studies on the testing the various single and multifactor capital asset pricing models in both unconditional and conditional framework. Further, it discusses about the alternative arguments on the role of financial market anomalies on the determination of expected stock return and presents the critical review on whether alternative multifactor asset pricing models are able to capture the role of financial market anomalies in determining the expected stock return. The review of literature on these issues conclude that conditional asset pricing models perform better as compared to unconditional models, cross sectional regularity of the stock return has been associated with various financial market anomalies like size of the company, book to market ratio, momentum, and liquidity and they are not fully explained by the alternative asset pricing models. 2016-12-01T00:00:00+00:00 https://www.i-scholar.in/index.php/jmr/article/view/135511 Prediction of Best Index Suitable for Investor’s by Using DRSMLA Method 2017-02-09T08:19:25+00:00 Madhavi Latha K. Siva Nageswara Rao Every investor wants to gain high returns and dividends in stock market. This is possible only when there are methods to get knowledge as to invest in stocks that will be risk free. Towards this direction the methods existing in the literature are ID3 Decision trees, neural networks, statistics discriminant analysis and rough set theory. But there are some drawbacks in the above methods. To overcome them we propose a method "Dynamic Rough set using machine learning algorithms" (DRSMLA) to predict best indices for long term, medium term and short term investors. We use Dynamic Rough Set Theory (DRST) for preprocessing the data and divide the data into required time slots. Next the features selected by DRST will be sent to Support Vector Machine (SVM) model to learn and test respectively. The model is tested on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the results reveal accuracy is increased and time complexity is decreased over the existing methods. 2016-12-01T00:00:00+00:00
