Abstract

This work proposes analysis effect of environmental parameters on Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) and Global Positioning System (GPS). This paper presents variation in GSM signal strength with respect to weather parameters. There are many sources of deviation for both issues, but into this research our main focus on Tropospheric delays. The results show humidity, pressure, temperature and air condition effect signal strength values of GSM and accuracy of GPS. The minimum and maximum measurements were recorded for GSM in the range - 89 and - 41 dBm where -89 is low signal strength and -41 is high signal strength. The accuracy of GPS were calculated and compared at different points. Result of this research showed that the tropospheric delay produce 6 to 14 meters deviation on same landmark at different weather parameters value.

Abstract

Objectives: In this letter, the achievability of an unequal power divider utilizing a microstrip innovation as a part of the P/UHF band is designed. Methods/Statistical Analysis: Unequal power divider with 3-alternatives/approaches is composed in this research work, these are traditional microstrip configuration, power divider with input transformer and discretionary outline impedance (A-arbitary) is acquainted with control high impedance values and Power divider with general outline comparisons (Determination of Z1 or Z2 with required Impedances). Findings: At long last Power divider with general outline comparisons is figured it out. In this case the impedance of any one of the quarter wave impedance transmission line chosen is 30/35Ω which is most appropriate for impedance confinement of 10-60 ohm with a large power partitioning proportion radar applications where the side projection levels are most negative required. The unequal amplitudes of the 8-way power divider is designed utilizing Taylors 1-parameter method to get the side projections levels – 17 dB down from the fundamental beam. Application/Improvements: The 2-way and 8-way power divider was simulated using Method of Moments based Zealand IE3D software (MOM) an aggregate bandwidth of 40MHz was accomplished at an resonant frequency 0.43GHz. The simulated 2-way and 8-way unequal power divider is simulated and results are given. A prototype of 2-way unequal power divider with power levels P1 and P2 are 0.79622 and 0.89352 with power ratio of 1.1222 is fabricated to verify our proposed design. Measured results are given good agreement with simulated results to confirm our proposed design.

Abstract

Background/Objectives: Although, several security mechanisms have developed for vehicle navigation system yet there is a need of more advancement in existing or development of new security architectures. The main objective of this paper is to provide security and authenticity for vehicle navigation system. Methods/Statistical Analysis: Existing cryptography algorithms and fault tolerance technique helps to designed novel secure architecture. A fault tolerance based mathematical model is used for system analysis. The inputs for the system are latitude, longitude and digested engine number. Findings: It has been observed that designed system is able to provide the correct information in spite of corrupted signal is sensed at destination end (at server side). Application/Improvements: Designed secure and authenticated architecture which improve fault tolerance by applying fault tolerance technique on digested information and also reduces server overhead.

Abstract

Objectives: To study the cost estimation using FFNN (Feed Forward Neural Network) and BPNN (Back Propagation Neural Network). Methods/Statistical Analysis: In proposed work, resource allocation has been done in which cost function has been estimated. The whole simulation is being done using MATLAB 2010a environment. Findings: From the simulation results, it is analyzed that using FFNN, 95% of accuracy is achieved. Application/Improvements: With the advent of this technology, the cost of computation, application hosting, proper storage of content and delivery is abridged considerably.

Abstract

This paper examines the Dual Layer substrate with Dual patch Microstrip antenna (DLDM). Radiation characteristics of dual substrate antenna with active E-shape patch between the substrates and passive complementary strip ring resonator loaded Microstrip Patch Antenna (MPA) is analyzed. Because of this dual layer substrate miniaturization of antenna is reported. Multi band frequency resonance and shift in the resonant frequency is possible with Complementary Split Ring Resonator (CSRR) loaded passive patch. Comparison of normal E-shape patch and DLDM are studied, and results are discussed. This structure provides ~9.0 dBi gain with triple band resonance which can be used for 4G LTE and Wi-MAX wireless LAN applications.

Abstract

Background/Objectives: This letter describes the design simulation and fabrication the design, simulation and fabrication of an P-band frequency band unequal amplitude 90° hybrid coupler. This hybrid coupler is used to design a feeder network with 4 output ports for T-Radar Wind Profiler Operating at 430MHz is achieved with a frequency bandwidth exceeding 50MHz. Methods/Statistical Analysis: The hybrid coupler is designed with the help of conventional microstrip technology. Measured and simulation results has been provided for the components (Equal amplitude hybrid couplers, Unequal amplitude hybrid coupler) used to implement the feeder network. The microstrip hybrid coupler with unequal amplitudes with 90° phase difference is achieved with varying impedances of the one of the arms in a hybrid coupler. Findings: The proposed coupler is easily fabricated on the glass epoxy PCB without any lumped element. There is a good agreement between measured, simulated and theoretical prediction validated the feasible configuration of the proposed coupler and amplitude weights are designed based on array synthesis so called Taylors 1-parameter method for side lobe level -17 dB down from the main beam. A full wave EM simulator zeland IE3D V12.02 and Ansoft designer is used for designing hybrid coupler. Applications/ Improvements: The fabricated coupler is best suited for shared aperture antenna beam forming network and Feeder network using hybrid coupler for 430 MHz Radar applications. To demonstrate our design theory, a practical unequal power hybrid coupler is designed, simulated and fabricated. The measured results shows that the Return losses are larger than 25dB. The power couplings S21 and S31 is -4.38 dB and -3.17 dB and the output phase difference is 88.3180 at the operating frequency.

Abstract

As a result of the technological developments in civil, mechanical and aeronautical engineering, visco-elastic plate structures gained popularity in the 20th century. The mainstream of visco- elastic materials are receptive to heat in space technology, highly speed space flights, internal combustion engines, satellites, certain parts of mechanical structures have to man oeuvre under elevated temperatures consequently the state of affairs are thermal sensitive. It is observed that thermal effects are recurrently overlooked in most of the cases so far they have to be taken in to concern. In this paper effect of bi-parabolically variation in temperature is premeditated on vibration of an orthotropic rectangular plate and whose thickness also varies bi-parabolically. Frequency equation is derived by using Rayleigh–Ritz technique with a two-term deflection function. Time period, Deflection and Logarithmic decrement at different points for the first two modes of vibration are calculated for various values of thermal gradients, aspect ratio and taper constants. Abstract

Objectives: This research work is conducted in small scale industries to highlight energy efficiency gap that has often been neglected from the analysis in manufacturing cluster. The study is done to evaluate - Intensity of Barrier (IOB), Easiness of Barrier Removal (EOB) and Impact of Barrier Removal (IBREE) on Energy Efficiency for the top four barrier-groups by using mathematical model based on Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). Methods/Statistical Analysis: The data for AHP matrix is collected through an online questionnaire sent to 180 respondents from the list of 330 industries selected randomly. The four barrier groups are selected based on various studies conducted on Barriers to energy efficiency in India and abroad. The total cluster population consists of 330 Small Scale Manufacturing units in Mohali district of Punjab. Considering the reliability of respondents, the confidence interval 0.20 and confidence level 95% is chosen respectively. The calculated sample size using these parameters is 22. Findings: The Results highlighted many important findings that inhibit the energy efficiency benefits is these cluster and affect degree of implementation. Policy and Regulatory Barrier followed by Personal&Informational Barrier having score value 0.36 and 0.24 respectively are found to be high-intensity Barriers that act as impediments to energy efficiency policies in manufacturing cluster. The Personal&Informational Barrier is easiest to remove whereas Policy and Regulatory Barrier is most difficult to remove barrier group according to AHP results. Application/Improvements: The analysis pointed out that if Policy and Regulatory Barrier is removed would result in significant chances of achieving energy efficiency in these clusters. An initiative from state government bodies in collaboration with field specific experts is necessary to formulate effective policies to address this barrier group. The Personal&Informational Barrier can be addressed through regular interactions with experts, training programs and behavior modification techniques.
