A control algorithm of tri-rotor aircraft using PID control and the effect of it in a tilt tri-rotor aircraft is proposed and observed in this paper. In the development of the control algorithm, a mathematical model consisting variables from three motors used and its tilting mechanism is obtained and referred to. A significant improvement is observed when the control algorithm is applied to the system in which the pitch overshoot is greatly reduced and approach to a constant zero.Tilt Tri-Rotor Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (TRUAV) is an aircraft that has three motors and does not allow pilot intervention in the management of the flight. There exist situations where the surrounding environment is not appropriate or even dangerous to a human being. Examples of such case is a war zone area, steep terrains, explosive area, or even during armed attacks. Keywords

Rapid growth in network services and vast usage of Internet worldwide have led to an increase in network traffic and created bottleneck over the internet. Such traffic results in an increase of access time of web documents, server response latency, reduced network bandwidth and slow response time for popular websites. Web cache is an essential optimization technique used to reduce response time and improve performance. However due to its limited size and cost of cache comparable to other storage devices, cache replacement algorithm is used to determine and evict page when the cache is full to create space for new pages. Several algorithms had been introduced and their performances are important in producing high speed web caching. However, their performances are not well optimized. This work proposes a hybrid method that optimize cache replacement algorithm using Naïve Bayes (NB) based approach. Naïve Bayes is an intelligent method that depends on Bayes’ probability theory integrated with Adaptive Weight Ranking Policy (AWRP) via dynamic aging factor to improve the response time and network performance. From the pseudocode of the proposed algorithm, it is observed that the complexity of the algorithm is O(n)which is linear, hence the response time is considergood. Performance evaluations based on hit rate and byte hit rate for new the method over conventional methods with real data will be conducted for validation and verification. Keywords

Cloud computing is the latest and the most used type of distributed computing systems and also it covers most of their features. It has been widely used for its enormous benefits and its ability to cope with large scale data such as workflows and big data applications. On the other hand, scheduling algorithms; starting from traditional to Hyper-heuristic; are widely used in computing systems such as cloud computing to monitor the use of resources. However, these scheduling algorithms vary in term of their performance and most of these traditional and simple scheduling algorithms may not be efficient for large scale data. Although many scheduling algorithms have been implemented for cloud computing, it has been realized that most of the applications nowadays require different objectives that simple scheduling algorithms fail to achieve. Either one of the objective is violated or the results are far from the optimal solution. In this direction, this paper first gives review of some previous scheduling algorithms used in cloud. Then, it proposes a type of swarm intelligence called Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm to diminish cost though meeting deadlines. The proposed method is evaluated using CloudSim and big data applications are used as sample of applications. From the results, it can be seen that PSO works better for big data applications and the cost is reduced to more than half when compared with ordinary scheduling algorithms such as First-Come-First-Serve (FCFS).Keywords

Objectives: In this paper, a smart Intrusion Detection System (IDS) has been proposed that detects network attacks in less time after monitoring incoming traffic thus maintaining better performance. Methods/Statistical Analysis: The features are extracted using back-propagation algorithm. Then, only these relevant features are trained with the help of multi-layer perceptron supervised neural network. The simulation is performed using MATLAB. Findings: The proposed system has been verified to have high accuracy rate, high sensitivity as well as a reduction in false positive rate. Besides, the intrusions have been classified into four categories as Denial-of-Service (DoS), User-to-ischolar_main (U2R), Remote-to-Local (R2L) and Probe attacks; and the alerts are stored and shared via a central log. Thus, the unknown attacks detected by other Intrusion Detection Systems can be sensed by any IDS in the network thereby reducing computational cost as well as enhancing the overall detection rate. Applications/Improvements: The proposed system does not waste time by considering and analysing all the features but takes into consideration only relevant ones for the specific attack and supervised learning neural network is used for intrusion detection. By the application of Snort before backpropagation algorithm, the latter has only one function to perform – detection of unknown attacks. In this way, the time for attack detection is reduced. Keywords
