Abstract

The two’s complement approach plays a vital role in reducing Partial product Rows count in signed bit multiplier. In this paper proposed a multiplier which reduces the partial product rows by Modified Booth techniques with less delay. This high performance 2’s complement multiplier is used in embedded cores. This work was implemented in the Xilinx software and simulation results were obtained for the different applications. Applications such as FIR filter and Image processing requires high accuracy and smaller size multipliers. The image and filter interfacing is done with the help of MATLAB software.

Abstract

Objectives: To reduce the PAPR in OFDM signal. Methods/Statistical Analysis: The foremost problem found in OFDM is the high PAPR (Peak to Average Power Ratio). The variety of processes worned to diminish the high PAPR is: Partial Transmit Sequence (PTS) Coding, Clipping, m-Law, Selective Mapping (SLM), Exponential Companding (EC) etc. Findings: However, these PAPR reduction techniques have some disadvantages, such as Higher Modulation Order, Degradation of the BER and SNR performance, increasing of Average Power etc. A new Nonlinear Companding technique is proposed which aims at compressing the large amplitude signals and at the same time sustaining the normal power as stable. The Simulation results show that the proposed Companding method possibly provides an improved scheme recital in stipulations of PAPR lessening, and BER recital. Application/Improvements: Amplifier will not get damage.

Abstract

Background/Objective: This paper presents a new digital control approach to track the Maximum Power Point (MPPT) for Potovoltaic (PV) systems. A photovoltaic power generation system requires an effective controller to overcome sudden changes to irradiance and to maximize its efficiency. Methods/Statistical Analysis: A new approach to MPPT based on voltage control was proposed, while a PI (Proportional Integral) controller was combined with the boost converter to adapt the duty cycle. Findings: The input voltage reference was adaptively perturbed with variable steps until the maximum power was reached. A state-space model was derived through the averaging method, with the control input being the duty ratio to regulate the pulse width modulator on the DC-DC boost converter. The proposed control scheme eliminated steady state oscillations around the working point area of the PV panel when there were rapid changes to the irradiance. Applications/Improvements: Furthermore, the PV system became more efficient, as proven by the sudden change in the radiation conditions for 0.3 seconds, where approximately 30% of energy could be saved.
