With the ever increasing pressure on forests for timber, fuel and other minor forest produces the importance of bushes and shrubs is gradually realised. There has so for been on concerted effort on the part of J.&K. Forest Department to set up trials on the methods or propogation or busbes and shrubs of the State. This paper briefy mentions the results obtained in respect of trials on some Himalayan bushes. The results obtained so far indicate that the branch and stump cuttings have given fairly good results whereas sowings have drawn a complete blank.
