Abstract

In this paper authors presents, Some performance measures of hybrid-AODV (Encrypted AODV) for different traffic like CBR & TCP connection for MANET. MANETs are mostly established in insecure environments like disaster sites and military applications. Auhthors measures performance of network using packet delivery fraction & Routing load. AODV is widely used routing protocol in MANETs AODV is the protocol that developed without considering security. After applying security over AODV, performance of AODV degreed sometimes. So after applying encryption process on AODV they measure that packet delivery fraction & routing load increase or decrease using both CBR&TCP connection. Simulation for this experiment they use NS2.34 simulator.

Abstract

Now-a-days non-communicable diseases and metabolic disorders have become the major concern of health care providers and researchers. The major causes of these health problems are change in lifestyle and food behavior. Ayurveda has given great consideration to diet, dietary methods along with daily and seasonal regimens and code of conduct in health and disease. Acharya Charaka has quoted that human body and disease both are the product of nutrition. The state of health depends on diet and dietetic, faulty intake of diet results in diseased state. The person who wants to be free from different diseases should eat Hitakar Aahar (suitable diet) in adequate amount on appropriate time as per the status of digestive fire. Ayurveda has given an extensive description about Diet and Dietetics under the preview of Ashtha Aahar Vidhi Visheshayatana (eight specific factors related to method of food cooking, processing, food combinations and it’s intake) and Dwadasha Pravicharana (twelve rules related to method of intake of food), Viruddha Aahar (incompatible diet), Pathya (suitable), Apathya (unsuitable) diet.

All the ancient literatures related to different cultures including Ayurveda have focused on diet in maintenance of health and management of diseases. But the available dietetics literatures have not acknowledged the contribution of Ayurveda scholars. The dietetic concepts described in Ayurveda, may contribute a lot in maintenance of health and management of life style disorder. The aim of writing this article is to highlight the hidden concept of the diet and dietetics to the researchers in the field of dietetics and medicine.

Abstract

Nutrition is the science that interprets the interaction of food in relation to maintenance, growth, health and disease of an organism. The history of nutrition science and dietetics can be traced back as far as history of civilization across the world. The food habits, cooking and food processing have been evolved with cultural development of human beings. The ancient physicians from Greek, Hippocrates, Galen, Plato, Chinese civilization and Indian physician of Ayurveda like Charak and Sushruta have duly recognized the importance of diet and dietetics along with physical activity in health and management of various disorders.

Although the advancement in nutrition science has added the discovery of various micronutrients and fortified food substances, still a large number of populations worldwide is suffering from disorders of malnutrition, food-borne diseases, neurotoxins and other non-communicable diseases due to wrong cooking, storage, packaging practices and intake of food in wrong combination. Ayurveda has advocated that to get the optimum benefits from the consumed food (Aahara), people should give due consideration to their psychosomatic constitution (Prakriti), state of digestive power (Agni), age, dietary rules, nature and combination of food etc.

It is very surprising fact that scientific development of nutrition science was started in between 18^th and 19^th century, but the researchers and academicians working in the field of nutrition and medicinal health science have not incorporated the valuable, time tested knowledge of Ayurveda, which could be applied for development of nutrition science, and will be helpful in treatment of diseases and maintenance of health too.

Abstract

Human physiology and pathophysiology of diseases have been proved to show rhythmic variation in response to temporal factors. This behavior is intertwined in field of clinical physiology in form of chronomedicine and chronotherapy for the better outcomes of treatment. Ayurveda scholars have also described rhythmic variation in biological entities like Dosha, Agni, Bala, presentation of diseases in relation to diurnal, meal intake and seasonal factors. They have well documented different domain of drug i.e. collection of drug, preparation of medicine, intervention of therapeutic procedures and administration of medicine in accordance to variation in biological entities and time. This article is aimed to summarize all these documented observations of Ayurveda regarding chronomedicine and chronotherapy and discuss in view of contemporary sciences, so that it can be utilized by the researchers of this field to generate evidence based data and may be applied by the physician for the better prognosis and management of the disease.

Abstract

Physiology of sweating and thermoregulation was well conceived by Ancient Ayurveda scholars. The detailed description of Svedavaha Srotas (channels carrying sweat), Sveda (sweat) as Mala (waste), its mechanism of formation on exposure to heat, therapeutic application of heat for inducing sweating under the concept of Svedan Karma (sudation) for purification and balancing the Dosha for management of disorders reflects the deep understanding of Ayurveda scholars about the physiology of sweating and temperature regulation. Keeping these facts in mind a detailed review has been done as an attempt to understand the physiology of sweating and temperature regulation mechanism described in Ayurveda in view of contemporary sciences and recent researches.

Abstract

Introduction: <i>Svedana Karma</i> (Sudation) is a therapeutic procedure used to pacify <i>Vata, Kapha Dosha</i> and also helps in detoxification of the body. Various methods have been described to induce sweating as per the disorder and the type of <i>Dosha</i> involved in pathogenesis. <i>Sarvanga Ruksha svedana</i> used in the present study is a type of <i>Sagni Sveda (Kuti Sveda)</i> in which heat is applied without prior <i>Abhyanga</i> (massage with oil). Objectives: To analyze certain physiological, haematological and biochemical parameters in blood and sweat and also to understand the mechanism of effects produced by <i>Sarvanga Ruksha Svedan</i>. Methods: An exploratory study was conducted on 30 clinically healthy subjects in the age group of 20-30 years. They were registered for the study after their written consent for <i>Svedan</i> procedure. The impact of <i>Svedan</i> was observed in terms of subject’s pulse rate (PR), blood pressure (BP), Temperature and biochemical parameters like complete blood count (CBC), and renal function test (RFT), lipid profile, sweat biochemical analysis. Assessment of <i>Prakriti</i> was done as per the predominance of <i>Dosha</i>. Results: The changes observed in the BP, PR, temperature, hemoglobin (Hb), CBC, biochemical parameters such as serum and sweat electrolytes, blood lipid levels, serum urea, creatinine have shown significant effect of <i>Sarvanga Ruksh Svedan</i>. The difference in responses has been found to vary as per <i>Prakriti</i> also. Conclusion: Present study has shown several interesting findings leading to scientific interpretation of <i>Svedan Karma</i> and <i>physiology</i> of <i>Svedavaha Srotas</i> and also has provided a lead for future research in this area.

Abstract

Beauty culture techniques are very common in almost every Indian household and girls learn this art from their elders and beauty specialists. PMKVYis on generating job possibilities and entrepreneurship especially grey collar (knowledge workers), pink collar (waiters, retail clerks, salespersons) and rust belt workers (construction) besides white and blue collars. Training is effort initiated by an organization to foster learning among its workers, and development is effort that is oriented more towards broadening an individual's skills for the future responsibility. It provides a systematic improvement of knowledge and skills which in turn helps the trainees to function effectively and efficiently in their given task on completion of the training. The study was conducted in Hisar district in Haryana state purposively. Atotal of 120 respondents were selected from four training centres, i.e., 30 respondents from each training centre. Satisfaction of trainees in terms of subject matter, physical facility and quality of the trainer towards trainings was measured. The constraints faced by the respondents were observed. Results showed that majority of the respondents were satisfied with coverage of subject matter, methodology used, working environment, usefulness of training material whereas, practical sessions of the training programme were reported to be somewhat satisfactory. Further, it was also found that the economic constraints were perceived as major constraint followed by marketing, and technical constraints for all the beauty culture trainings.

Abstract

In developing nations, gender norms dictate that women are expected to be largely responsible for domestic work. Women are still predominantly responsible for domestic and care work, despite rising female involvement rates in the workforce and significant contributions from women to economic growth and gross domestic product (GDP) globally. Poor mental health among women in low- and middle-income nations may be influenced by high work demands, particularly in rural areas where women are more likely to engage in labour-intensive unpaid employment. Women shoulder excessive burden of unpaid work with more traditional gender role attitudes. Rural women often encounter conflicting demands from their agricultural work and household work such as long and irregular working hours, physically demanding tasks, and unpredictable seasonal demands. It was observed that agricultural work was manually doing most of the agricultural operations. The role demands of farm women put them under heavy pressure requiring work-family balance. The current study was designed to study work demands of farm women, nature of work and type of work regarding household work, farm work and livestock work in Haryana, through agro climatic zones. To draw a representative sample, eight villages from four districts (Two districts from each agro climatic zone) were taken randomly. From each village data was collected from 25 respondents. Therefore, the study concluded that half of the respondents to cent percent respondents were doing all the activities related to family responsibilities as their day-to-day routine work in both zones. Most of the agricultural activities related to manual operations were carried out by the majority of respondents while participation of respondents was very low in activities related to buying and selling such as buying equipment or selling production in both zones. Medium level of task load was found in maximum number of respondents.

Abstract

The use of technology has a significant impact on changing a variety of industries, including agriculture. Although there are a number of technologies designed and developed by many Scientists most of these are either not adopted or partially adopted by farm women. The popularity of technologies among agricultural women is extremely uncommon. There are so many constraints in its use due to socio-economic conditions, situational or technological problems, they tend to reject the technology, discontinue its use or partially adopt it. Hence, the study was conducted to find out the various Problems faced by rural women in the adoption of improved technologies. The study was conducted on 200 respondents(25 from each selected village) of eight villagesfrom two agro-climatic zones of Haryana. The data was collected through personal and face to face interview method. The major problems expressed by the majority of the respondents were technologies is expensive low level of education about technology, practical and compatible technology is not available at local level, complexity in use etc. for its adoption.
