Abstract

Objectives: This paper presents a review on the applications of machine vision technology in various industries such as food industry, textile industry, PCB industry and tile industry, thereby enhancing the conventional system. Methods: This technique used for inspection, sorting, handling and testing various components by machine vision is given with ample illustrations. Using this as a guide, generic machine vision approaches can be derived and applied to solve many problems. Findings: The machine vision techniques applied in the above mentioned fields are studied. It has been proven from research that automating processes in several industries has led to better results than manual processing. As a scientific discipline, machine vision is concerned with the concept behind artificial systems that incorporates image processing. Machine vision systems are based on extracting the images of the objects which are to be inspected/tested and processing them to retrieve the required data. This review paper provides an insight on how to combine two or more machine vision techniques to successfully incorporate them in more generic applications that may have the potential to perform with greater agility and accuracy.

Abstract

Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate the advantage of using 3D laparoscopy over conventional 2D laparoscopy on various operative procedures.

Methods: From April 2012 till April 2017, 1200 patients were selected for various laparoscopic procedures and were divided into two groups. One group of patients were selected for 2-D Laparoscopic surgery and another group for 3-D laparoscopic surgery. Operative performance in both groups was compared in terms of time, stress and confidence of the operating surgeon.

Results: Operative time interval for various procedures was significantly less in 3D Group as compared to 2D Group . Also,it was found that the surgeries performed in 3-D were much easier compared to 2-D in terms of stress and confidence of the operating surgeon.

Conclusion: Advantages of 3D laparoscopy were well appreciated during various operative procedures as compared to 2D laparoscopy.

Abstract

Road traffic accidents(RTA) account for greater mortality and morbidity rates worldwide, resulting in considerable global burden. In India motor vehicle accidents are one of the common reasons for mortality among young riders. The present study provides insight to different aspects of risky driving behavior from individual attitudes, and psychological factors like, anger, mood and emotions. Road traffic accidents are the third leading cause of death among young people. If timely actions are not taken, road traffic accidents are predicted to become the fifth leading cause of death in the world. Considering the issue and concern about younger age group, this study was carried out to understand risky driving behaviour among young novice two wheeler riders. A cross sectional study was conducted among college students, findings from this study says young males are more involved in risky driving behavior. Finally, the results focus on the role that risky driving behaviour plays in two-wheeler motor vehicle accidents and suggests the need for further research in this area of risky driving behaviour to improve road safety education and law enforcement policies that focus upon ensuring good driving behaviours.
