Dytiscidae are a moderately large family, commonly known as predacious diving beetles. They have unique swimming method. As a whole dytiscid beetles of Arunachal Pradesh as well as those from North-East India are still poorly known though the region is well known for its rich faunal diversity. Of the dytiscid known from India (currently more than 251 species), only 14 species have been reported from Arunachal Pradesh (Ghosh & Nilsson, 2012) which highlight the low level of studies of the family in the state which is located in one of the global biodiversity hotspot.- Diving Beetles of Karnala Bird Sanctuary, Maharashtra, India (Coleoptera:Dytiscidae)

The current knowledge of diving beetles fauna of protected area of Himachal Pradesh state is very limited. Biswas (2000) and Ghosh & Hegde (2013) reported aquatic beetles from Renuka Wildlife Sanctuary of this state. The Govind Sagar Wildlife Sanctuary (GSWS) is located in district Bilaspur and Mandi of Himachal Pradesh and the area of this sanctuary is about 10,000 hectares.- Further Contribution on Diving Beetles from Maharashtra, India (Coleoptera:Dytiscidae)

Two hundred fifty one species belong to diving beetles of India pertaining to 48 form Maharashtra state (Ghosh & Nilsson, 2012). Knowledge on these beetles are quite insufficient. The species described from Maharashtra are Peschetius quadricostatus & Laccophilus parvulus by Aube (1838). Microdytes belli described by J.Balfour-Browne (1946). Vazirani (1968, 1977) described Clypeodytes hemani, Microdytes sabitae and Lacconectus lambai. Yola indica described by Bistrom (1983). This century, K.B. Miller & Wewalka (2010) described Microdytes whitingi. Further, some species reported from Maharashtra by our experts like Vazirani (1977), Brancucci (1986), Sharma (2002) and Ghosh & Hegde, in press.- Aquatic Beetles (Coleoptera) of Chhattisgarh, India

With more than 3.8 lakh described species of beetles (Coleoptera) throughout the world (Zhang, 2011), 12,604 species belong to aquatic beetles (Jach and Balke, 2008). Despite the vast fresh water bodies in India, the information on aquatic beetles of several states is still lacking.- Aquatic Beetles of Nayachar Island, East Midnapore District, West Bengal, India
