Spectroscopy is the chief experimental technique of atomic and molecular physics and involves determining the energy states of atoms or molecules by looking at the light absorbed or emitted when they change states. Measuring the frequency of light absorbed or emitted which is determined by the energy difference between the two states, can provide a sensitive probe of interactions which perturb those energy states. Among those in this review we revealed that the principle, instrumentation and applications of inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy. In this sample is usually transported into the instrument as a stream of liquid sample. Inside the instrument, the liquid is converted into an aerosol through a process known as nebulisation. The sample aerosol is then transported to the plasma where it is desolvated, vaporized, atomized, and excited and/or ionized by the plasma. The excited atoms and ions emit their characteristic radiation which is collected by a device that sorts the radiation by wavelength. The radiation is detected and turned into electronic signals that are converted into concentration information for the analyst. Keywords

Nanotechnology may be able to create many new materials and devices with a vast range of applications, such as in medicine, electronics, biomaterials and energy production. On the other hand, nanotechnology raises many of the same issues as any new technology, including concerns about the nanotoxicity and environmental impact of nano materials, and their potential effects on global economics. Like electricity or computers before it, nanotech will offer greatly improved efficiency in almost every facet of life. But as a general-purpose technology, it will be dual-use, meaning it will have many commercial uses and it also will have many military uses making far more power -full weapons and tools of surveillance. Thus it represents not only wonderful benefits for Humanity, but also grave risks. A key understanding of nanotechnology is that it offers not just better products, but a vastly improved manufacturing process. A computer can make copies of data files—essentially as many copies as you want at little or no cost. It may be only a matter of time until the building of products becomes as cheap as the copying of files. That's the real meaning of nanotechnology and why it is sometimes seen as "the next industrial revolution." Generally, nanotechnology deals with developing materials, devices, or other structures possessing at least one dimension sized from 1 to 100 nanometers. Quantum mechanical effects are important at this quantum-realm scale. In this project a discussion about each method and its principle, applications, and limitations are done in details. These techniques are discussed in detailed further. Applications for the future: Efficient and energy-saving Cube-shaped nanostructures known as metal organic frameworks (MOFs) are the storage medium of the future. Keywords

Among the different extraction techniques used at analytical and preparative scale, supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) is one of the most used separation technique, which mostly depends on critical temperature and pressure of supercritical fluid. This review covers the most recent developments of SFE indifferent fields (SFE applications), such as food science, natural products, by-product recovery, pharmaceutical and environmental sciences, during the period 2007-2009. The revision is focused on the most recent advances and applications in the different areas; among them, it is remarkable the strong impact of SFE to extract high value compounds from food and various natural products but also its increasing importance in areas such as heavy metals recovery, enantiomeric resolution or drug delivery systems. Keywords

For centuries, our sense of smell has been used as a diagnostic tool in the practice of medicine, be it for recognising gas gangrene on the battle field or diabetic ketoacidosis in the emergency room. In recent decades, many scent detection studies have been performed with human, animal and electronic noses. The ability of humans to diagnose disease by smelling has only rarely been the subject of quantitative studies. Scent detection by animals, on the other hand, has been addressed in several diagnostic studies, which all suggest similar or even superior accuracy compared with standard diagnostic methods. Examples include, amongst many others, the use of dogs for the detection of lung cancer in breath samples, or rats for Mycobacterium tuberculosis detection in sputum. Studies using different types of electronic noses in conditions such as pulmonary disease and cancer have also shown promising results with high overall sensitivity and specificity. However, results of different types of noses are not easily general sable and independent confirmation studies are generally lacking, which should be a focus for future research. Scent detection by animals and electronic noses holds promise for the future and should receive higher priority in terms of research effort and funding. Keywords

The determination of surface tension of three selected marked juice formulations were carried out using Traube's Stalagnometer technique by drop number method which in turn aid in further identification, structural elucidation as well as determining chemical constituents. The formulation I (Lemon Juice), formulation II (Tamarind Juice) and formulation III (Orange Juice) were selected for the studies and were also evaluated to their same quantity mixture ration with distilled water combination for estimation of different composition. The main aim and rationale of study was to evaluate the surface tension of selected formulations with distilled water. The 10% formulation of mixture (I:II:III::1:1:1) with distilled water showed maximum surface tension (72 dyne/cm) and 10% formulation mixture with distilled water showed minimum surface tension ( 65 sdyne/cm) amongst other compositions. The results revealed that all the present composition values were less than standard. The 60% (74 sdyne/cm), 70% (67.8 dyne/cm), 80% (68.07 dyne/cm), 90% (71.8s dyne/cm) formulation mixture with distilled water showed approximately same surface tension value. In individual surface tension study, it was noted that formulation III i.e. tamarinds juice (60 dyne/cm) showed highest value and formulation I i.e. Orange Juice (61 dyne/cm) showed lowest value comparison between three formulations under laboratory conditions. Keywords

Objective: Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a recurrent ulceroinflammatory disease that is mainly restricted to colonic mucosa with variable colonic architecture distortion. Different types of drugs are used for management of UC namely Salfasalazine, Balsalazide, Mesalamine etc. However, they are associated with different types of adverse effects such as nausea, vomiting, skin rash, headache. Hence, we narrowed in on Colocasia esculenta and its available in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan. In our present study the anticolitic effects Colocasia esculenta in treatment the TNBS induced model for UC in mice were examined. Methods: Male mice, 7 weeks of age, are selected. They are divided into various categories:Negative control groups treated with normal saline solution ,positive control group treated with TNBS5%, standard group treated with Balsalazide 4mg/kg & TNBS 5% , Test(1) group treated with Colocasia esculenta 100mg/kg, Test(2) group treated with Colocasia esculenta 150 mg/kg, Test(3) group treated with Colocasia esculenta 250 mg/kg then we were performed various parameters such as DAI, Oxidative damage assessment, MPO Assessment. Results: The results have been showed that Colocasia esculenta has significant activity against TNBS (5%) induced colitis when compared to the experimental control, with near normalization of colon architecture. Tissue oxidative stress was reduced with significant improvement in tissue levels of MDA &GSH. Furthermore, significant improvement in levels of myeloperoxidase (MPO) was observed. Conclusion: It is concluded that Colocasia esculenta(250mg/kg) has got potent activity against TNBS (5%) induced ulcerative colitis (UC) due to its anti-inflammatory& antioxidant properties. Keywords

Chromatography is a method for the isolation of a mixture into separate sections. It is usually based on the principle of partition of solute between two phases. It usually consists of a mobile phase and a stationary phase. The advancement of the mobile process in the planar stationary stage is evoked by different external or internal forces. Capillarity and gravity are the intrinsic force whereas external forces are electric field, pump, and centrifugal forces. Thin layer chromatography and high-pressure thin layer chromatography are based on the adsorption theory. Forced flow thin layer chromatography is also based on the adsorption principle. FFTLC is an authoritative method of separation that uses a solvent pump to extract the sample mixture into a pressurized ultra-micro cavity containing an adsorbent analytical or preparative planer bed. FFTLC needs no or slight sample preparation as in TLC. One relation between FFTLC and high-pressure liquid chromatography is that as in HPLC, the maximum layer length is used for analytical and preparatory separation. FFTLC is a process in which continuous production and continual evaporation of the mobile phase from the end of the chromatography plate produces forced-flow. Here, we focus on FFTLC, an advanced and more sophisticated chromatographic technique. Keywords
