Objectives: It analyzed the simulation based study for impact of resource consumption attack on Signal-Stability Based Adapting (SSA) routing protocol in MANET. The performance of routing protocol is calculated by using these different parameters like throughput, Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR), end to end delay (E2E), routing overhead and energy consumption. Methods/ Statistical Analysis: The whole simulation is carried out through NS-2. NS-2 (Network Simulator version 2) is used for this simulation which is developed by UC Berkely. NS-2 is basically a combination of two languages OTcl and C++. Components of NS-2 are NAM (Network Animator), Proposing, Post prosing. NS-2 is a discrete event simulator in this C++ is easy to code but slower to run whereas OTcl is fast to run and difficult to code. Findings: We see the impact of this attack with three different performance metrics such as End to End, routing overhead, energy consumption throughput and packet delivery ratio (PDR).Keywords

Background: Antepartum haemorrhage (APH) due to placenta previa is a grave obstetrical emergency. It is a leading cause of perinatal death.
Objectives: Aim of the present study was to compare the perinatal outcome in registered (booked) and unregistered (unbooked) cases of placenta previa.
Methods: It is a prospective study carried out over a period of one year (2011-12) on 100 women admitted with the diagnosis of APH in India, at Pt. B. D. Sharma, PGIMS, Rohtak, Haryana. 54 patients of placenta previa were divided into the categories of registered and unregistered patients and their birth-weight, Apgar scores, morbidity and mortalities in fetus were recorded and compared.
Statistical Analysis: At the end of the study, the mean of different groups were compared with the independent sample t-test (unpaired t-test), Pairwise comparisons for morbidity and mortality were performed with Fisher’s exact test and Chi-square test was applied for discrete variables. p value of less than 0.05 was considered to indicate statistical significant.
Results and conclusion: Perinatal mortality was 38.4% in unregistered patients in comparison to 21% in registered patients. Statistically significant neonatal morbidity due to prematurity was seen in unregistered patients than in case of registered patients (p<0.05). All mothers with placenta previa should be registered and treated on expectant management; it will lead to the reduction in perinatal mortality and morbidity in developing countries.

Wernicke’s encephalopathy, a potentially fatal but treatable condition caused by thiamine deficiency, is usually suspected in the setting of chronic alcoholism. It is under-recognized when associated with other conditions. We describe a pregnant woman who presented with acute onset altered sensorium following repeated vomiting. Clinical suspicion, characteristic brain MRI, rapid recovery with thiamine confirmed the diagnosis of wernicke’s encephalopathy. We report this case to illustrate the importance of early recognition of this rare condition and to emphasize the importance of thiamine supplementation in patients of hyperemesis gravidarum in order to avoid a permanent neurological deficit.Keywords

A nasal glioma is a rare benign congenital midline mass which usually presents in neonates and infants. If extranasal, it presents as soft tissue midline mass which grows with age and intranasal type presents with nasal obstruction and difficulty in breathing. We report two cases of nasal glioma in infants. In first case it was misdiagnosed as choanal atresia and in second case as antrochoanal polyp. They had an uncomplicated surgical intervention with a good cosmetic result. Pediatricians should know masses seen in neonatal period as they are the first one to see the patient. Nasal gliomas are rare, congenital lesions with a potential for intracranial extension. Evaluation should include preoperative imaging with a thin-cut axial and coronal CT scan and/or MRI. Treatment requires surgical excision.Keywords
