A field experiment was conducted at Research Farm of A. S (P.G) College, Lakhaoti, Bulandshahar (U.P) during rabi season of 2004 – 05 and 2005 – 06 to find out the effect of integrated nutrient management on productivity and economics of wheat (Triticum aestivum). Conjuctive use of Vermicompost, Phosphate solubilizing bacteria (PSB) and Zinc in collaboration with 100% recommended fertilizer dose produced significantly higher grain and straw yield of wheat as compared to its counterpart of 50% NPK, whether applied alone or in combination with FYM, PSB, Zn and Vermicompost. The yield attributes like earhead length (cm), number of grains per earhead and 1000-grain weight (grams) increased by increasing fertility levels from 50% to 100%. In economic consideration, it was found that integration of FYM/ Vermicompost, Zn and PSB with 100% recommended NPK gave higher net income per hectare (Rs 32294) and B:C ratio (2.00) as compared to 50% Recommended NPK.Keywords

A field experiment was carried out at research farm of A.S. (P.G.) College, Lakhaoti, Bulandshahar (U.P) to find out the effect of integrated nutrient management applied to wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) on soil properties and fertility status. The result revealed that a significant improvement in soil properties and fertility status was found under treatment (T20) comprising of 100% Rec. NPK + Vermicompost + Zinc + PSB. Organic carbon content of soil improved from 3.0 to 4.6 g/kg soil, Bulk density reduced from 1.50 to 1.32 Mg/m3, water holding capacity increased from 20.32 to 23.72 %, available N from 197.0 to 219.0 kg ha-1, available P from 13.0 to 19.1 kg /ha-1, available K from 113.0 to 130.4 kgha-1 and available Zn from 1.50 to 1.87 mg kg-1 soil by the integration of organics with inorganics. However, the pH and electrical conductivity of soil were not reflected to a considerable extent.Keywords

A field experiment was conducted at the research farm of A.S. (P.G) College, Lakhaoti, Bulandshahr (U.P) to study the effect of INM on productivity and nutrient uptake in wheat and soil fertility. The yield attributes like earhead length (cm), number of grains per earhead and 1000- grains weight (grams) increased by increasing fertility levels from 50% to 100% and with the integration of vermicompost / FYM and PSB with inorganic fertilizers (NPK and Zn) and were recorded highest with the treatment comprised of 100% recommended fertilizer dose plus vermicompost +Zn+PSB. The significantly higher grain and straw yield of wheat (52.75 and 61.65 q/ha, respectively) were recorded with the conjunctive use of vermicompost, PSB and Zn in collaboration with 100% recommended fertilizer dose as compared to its counter part of 50% recommended NPK, whether applied alone or in combination with FYM, PSB, Zn and vermicompst (VC). Significant improvement owing to appropriate combination of NPK, VC/FYM, Zn and PSB was observed for the nutrient uptake by the crop and the maximum nutrient uptake was noticed due to 100% RFD of NPK + VC +Zn +PSB and minimum with control. The maximum fertility status in terms of available N, P, K and Zn after the harvest of crop as (231.0, 18.5, 130.6 kg/ha and 1.64 mg/kg, respectively) was recorded with treatment T20 comprised of 100% recommended NPK + VC + Zn + PSB.Keywords

Bioresources composition in District Budgam (Central Kashmir) revealed the presence of 31 genera having 32 species belonging to 20 families of herb plants and six genera of six species representing three families of trees. Seasonal variation in quantitative attributes explicated dominance of Cynodon dactylon. Index of diversity of herbaceous species demonstrated maximum values during summer season. In case of tree diversity, Malus domestica was recorded as the most important species revealing an importance value index of 72 in the evaluated agroforestry system.Keywords
