Describes various trends in collection development in digital environment. The changes that have occurred in acquisition, retrieval and storage of information due to technological developments have been discussed. Limitations, restrictions and problems being faced by librarians and readers due to the same have also been discussed. The way these developments have affected the academic environment and changed the role of librarian has also been portrayed.Keywords

“A descriptive study was conducted to assess knowlegde regarding the prevalence and risk factors of Urinary Tract Infection among the nursing students at S.G.R.D. Nursing girls’ hostel, Vallah, Amritsar, Punjab. 2015. Data was collected by Self Structured questionnaire and convenient sampling. The result revealed that the majority of nursing students have moderate knowledge regarding prevalence and risk factors of Urinary Tract Infection among the nursing students.
Objectives
To assess the knowledge of the prevalence and risk factors of UTI among the nursing students.
To determine the association of knowledge level of nursing students regarding the UTI to selected demographic variables.
Research Methodology: Research design- Descriptive research design
Research setting-S.G.R.D. Nursing Hostel Vallah, Amritsar
Target population-Nursing students
Sample size-54 Nursing Students
Sampling Technique-Convenient sampling technique
Result and conclusion-The result of the study revealed that the majority of nursing students that is 83.3% have moderate knowledge, 9.3% of students have inadequate knowledge and 7.7% of students have adequate knowledge. The association of level of knowledge score with all variables is non-significant at p>0.05 except source of information at p<0.05 level.

A comparative study was conducted to assess knowledge of Primipara and Multipara Postnatal Mothers regarding care of newborn in selected hospitals at Dehradun. Data was collected by Structured Interview questionnaire. The result revealed that the Primipara postnatal mothers have less knowledge regarding newborn care as compared to multipara postnatal mothers.
Objectives:
- To assess the knowledge of primipara postnatal mother regarding care of newborn.
- To assess the knowledge of multipara postnatal mother regarding care of newborn.
- To compare the knowledge of primipara and multipara postnatal mother.
- To determine the association of knowledge level of pimipara amd multipara postnatal mothers regarding care of newborn to selected demographic variables.
Research Methodology: Research design- Non experimental descriptive research design
Research setting- Out patient department and ward of CMI Hospital and Community Health Centre Doiwala, Dehradun
Target population- Primipara and Multipara postnatal mothers
Sample size- 100 postnatal mothers. 50 primipara and 50 multipara postnatal mothers
Sampling Technique-Non-probability purposive sampling technique
Result and conclusion-The result of the study revealed that Overall mean knowledge score of primipara was 18.6% with the standard deviation 4.37. The overall mean knowledge score of multipara was 26.16% with the standard deviation 3.29%. So, these findings show that the primipara postnatal mothers have less knowledge regarding newborn skin care.
