The paper attempts to study the relevance af Maslaw's Need Hierarchy in modern organizations for both middle and top level management. It is based on ffie fact that a behavior arouses out of a direction given by motivation. Motives are the foundation of human behavior. In the current day context, motives of the individuals ore also influenced by the social and demographic conditions.Still we find that Mas/ow's Need Hierarchy is applicable and can be utilized for deriving the Appraisal methods and train ing for the executives at different levels in the organization.

Job burnout is quite prominent in today's workforce. The modern workplace and the workers at all levels in organizations face the stress and burnouts because of the market and customer demands. Due to work Overload, role ambiguity, long-term exhaustion and high professional responsibilities the employees of the organizations are experiencing high levels of physical, emotional and intellectual exhaustion. In recent times, burnout has emerged as an important psychological disorder and researchers go as far as calling it as a civilization disorder.
The research paper is an attempt to understand the various factors like personal, work related and client-side pressures which have a direct impact on the employee burnout by administering the Copenhagen Burnout Inventory on the employees of selected IT/ ITES organizations.

‘In an organization Rewards can help create the right employee - management team environment. Also create an atmosphere that is encouraging and favorable to achieving the contributions and efforts an organization need. But sometimes, same rewards and recognition when awarded to the employees who give finishing touch in his/her job, creates an environment of chaos among employees who really worked very hard.
It is through the organization's reward system that good employees are attracted to the organization; they decide to stay within the organization and then consciously decide to perform well. Employees perform at the level at which the organization rewards them. People continue to do what they have been rewarded for doing. This is a form of positive reinforcement. Yet managers must know what rewards mean the most to which employees in order to be the most effective. This study aims at studying the pros and cons of rewards when not given to the right person. A detailed knowledge of the topic is gained by secondary research backed by primary data.
