In order to improve the efficiency of DC–DC converter common active clamp boost circuit is used. This can be achieved by interleaving the coupled-inductor boost converters. The Clamp boost converter is used to clamp the voltage stresses of all the switches in the interleaved converters, caused by the leakage inductances present in the practical coupled inductors, to a low voltage level by use of PID controller. The leakage energies of the interleaved converters are collected in a clamp capacitor and recycled to the output by the clamp boost converter controlled by the PID controller. The proposed converter achieves high efficiency because of the recycling of the leakage energies, reduction of the switch voltage stress, and reduction of the output diode’s reverse recovery problem. Detailed analysis and design of the proposed converter are carried out. The effectiveness of the control strategies have been verified by simulation results.

The programmable transducers can be used in the field of motor or generator protection. To overcome the error of existing system like overvoltage, under voltage and under frequency self aided programmable transducers are used. C based program is to be developed to interface the transducers and generator tripping device to the computer. The output devices are interfaced with the computer through specially designed drive circuits to energize the trip circuit of motor in case protection acts. The drive circuits consists of opto-coupler (for isolation purpose), switching transistors and PCB mounted small relays. The input circuit comprises of Transducers & A/D converter, the output circuit comprises of driving circuits for feeders. Audible alarms also can be generated through computer with the aid of buzzer circuits. The input and the output circuits are connected to the PC through an Interfacing card through pc printer port. All the transducers are connected to the PC through an A/D converter.
