This study reports a simple micropropagation protocol and thereby rapid multiplication of the useful medicinal plant- Scoparia dulcis L. Single node explants were inoculated on basal MS medium containing 3% (w/v) sucrose, supplemented with different concentrations and combinations of 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP), kinetin (KN), indole-3-acetic acid (IAA), indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) and Naphthalene acetic acid (NAA) for direct plant regeneration. Maximum numbers of shoot (~22) were observed on the medium containing 0.5 mg/l BAP and 0.25 mg/l IAA after four weeks of culture. Regenerated shoots were separated and ischolar_mained on half strength MS medium supplemented with 0.5 mg/l of IBA alone for three weeks. Simultaneous regeneration of shoots and ischolar_mains and in vitro flowering were achieved from the nodal explants on MS medium supplemented with 0.5 mg/l KN and 2.0 mg/l IAA. Well-developed complete plantlets were transferred on to specially made plastic cup containing soil rite. Acclimatized plantlets were successfully grown in garden soil.Keywords

This study investigates the effect of biodiesel namely 20MOME (80%diesel+20%mahua oil methyl ester) on a kirloskar, single cylinder, direct injection diesel engine. Performance and emission characteristics like break thermal efficiency, exhaust gas temperature; Carbon monoxide (CO), unburned hydrocarbon (UBHC) and oxides of nitrogen (NOx) emissions were determined for 20MOME and compared with diesel fuel. The results showed that the engine performance under biodiesel blends were similar to that of neat diesel fuel with nearly the same brake thermal efficiency, and slightly higher fuel consumption. The carbon monoxide and hydrocarbon emissions decreased significantly compared to neat diesel fuel whereas the oxides of nitrogen increased.Keywords

The experiment on the optimization of planting stage and pinching level in carnation was carried out with the different stages of day's old ischolar_mained cuttings and pinching level. The experimental combinations of the study with different days of ischolar_mained cuttings and single pinching at three different nodal point resulted in the optimizing the days and pinching level in carnation. This will directly have an impact on the ultimate productivity of the crop. The treatment T8 with 30 day old ischolar_mained cuttings + single pinch at the 5th node proved to be the best in terms of number of flowers per plant (6.00, 8.30 and 5.40) and flower yield per sq.m. area (216.00, 298.80 and 194.40). The vegetative characters plant height, number of leaves per plant and laterals per plant, internodal length, quality characters viz., length and girth of flower stalk, flower yield parameters and physiological characters all of which tends to increase in the overall production and quality of flower.Keywords

A sample survey was undertaken to study the pattern of use of library documents, in specified areas, as revealed by the loan transactions over the twenty-year period 1960-1980, divided into 10 spans of 2 years each. The survey was taken up to provide an objective criterion for the management to take decisions on library collection development policies including the desirability of removing the less used library documents to a secondary shelving space and their eventual weeding out from the collection and transfer to a National depository of library documents of archival nature. The analysis presented in this case study is based on a sample of 1011 documents in the area of materials science that were circulated during the period. The 'Use factor' of a document issued atleast once during the period covered by the Survey has been statistically investigated and presented. A further attempt has been made to characterise the distribution of issue transactions of documents acquired in three specific years, i.e. 1970,1971 and 1973, fit theoretical distributions to the use frequency data, and obtain the criticality of use in each case.- Development of Nickel Composite Coatings by Electroless Deposition Method: a Review

The inhibitive action of Tolyl-3,3 dimethyl thiourea (TDMTU) on corrosion of mild steel in brine water (5% NaCl) has been studied using weight loss, gasometric measurements, potentiodynamic polarization and impedance studies. The studies clearly indicated that TDMTU acted as cathodic inhibitor. The adsorption of the compound on mild steel surface obeyed Temkin's adsorption isotherm. Diffused reflectance spectra and SEM images confirmed the formation of adsorbed film of inhibitor on metal.Keywords

The vascular flora of Mahendragiri hill and the surrounding areas of Kanyakumari and Tirunelveli Districts, Tamil Nadu, is dealt with in this paper. The floristic survey and investigations of the area reveal a varied and heterogeneous vegetetion. Tne vegetation varies from Southern tropical wet-evergreen, moist and dry deciduous to grassland and thorn forests. In all five exploration visits in different seasons were conducted which resulted in a collection of 831 field numbers distributed over 120 families, 398 genera and 579 species. About 21 species endemic to Tirunelveli and Travancore hill%, have been collected from this area. Of the families, Leguminosae, Gramineae, Euphorbiaceae, Rubiaceae, Acanthaceae, Labiatae, Orchidaceae, Arteraceae, Cyperaceze, Moraceae and Asclepizdaceae are in order of dominance. Pteridophytes are represented by 8 families, 14 genera and 16 species, the family Pteridaceae being dominant in having 6 genera and 7 species.- Notes on some Interesting Grasses from Southern India

This research paper mainly focuses on system architecture for smart healthcare using an advanced Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) and improving the efficiency of sensor to get the data immediately even there is patient in critical condition. It specifically targets assisted-living residents and others who may benefit from continuous, remote health monitoring. It focuses the advantages, objectives, and status of the design and multi-channel cluster clustering algorithm for increasing efficiency. An experimental living space has been constructed at the Lab for evaluation. Early results suggest a strong potential for WSNs to open new research perspectives for low-cost, ad hoc deployment of multimodal sensors for an improved quality of medical care and data retrieval time is very low.

Software Engineering provides methods and tools for the construction of quality software with a given deadline and constant requirements change. In this work it includes the measurement of software quality factor by categorizing the requirements as per the characteristic and the sub-characteristic mentioned in the ISO 9126 quality model an internationally recognized model and being followed by majority of the organization around the world. The main objective is to rank the software tools by measuring the quality factor of each software tool related to the user specified project areas requirement where rankings were assigned to the sub-characteristics with the help of the requirements and based on the performance of the software. The process includes the collection and consolidation of user requirement specification, categorization of the requirements as per the characteristic and the sub-characteristic for each tool, determination of the quality factor by using a series of formulas and finally categorize and rank the software tool based on the value of quality factor based on rating criteria mentioned in the quality model.

Aiming at the communication between LabVIEW and DCS, the paper presents a method of implementing remote real-time communication based on OPC (OLE for Process Control) on the Ethernet. It analyzed the principle of remote real-time communication between LabVIEW and DCS and designed a remote real-time communication test system consisting of LabVIEW, Ethernet and Honeywell HC-900 DCS. The author realized the HC-900 DCS hardware configuration, OPC server configuration, configuration variable and real-time data exchange between LabVIEW and HC-900 DCS by using NI (National Instrument) OPC server, and gave out the details of procedure and program. The test results indicate that the function of exchanging remote real-time data can be attained between LabVIEW and HC-900 DCS through OPC server, and prove that it is an effective and feasible method to realize the real-time remote communication between LabVIEW and DCS. The proposed method can be used to realize data process and advanced control in industrial to improve the process quality and control.Keywords

Recent development in wireless communications and electronics have facilitated the growth of low-cost low power wireless sensor nodes, which are extremely small in size and have the potential to sense quantities and route data and transmit them within short distances and trigger peripherals. Systems which depends on sensor nodes, are known as wireless sensor networks (WSNs), have been recently introduced in industrial management, home automation, security and military sensing, precision agriculture, and health monitoring. Sensor nodes are generally powered by batteries with restricted energy resource. As a result, the major challenge for this energy constrained system is to design an energy efficient protocol to enhance the life time of the networks. Power saving is one of the most important concern in wireless sensor networks and there is need many researches to deal with the better wireless routing schemes for the energy constrained single and multi hop networks. In this survey, discussed the several energy-aware routing protocols for wireless networks which will show the way for development of better routing protocols.

A typical failure in communication networks is disconnection of link between two nodes. When communication link fails, failed links can be replaced by a single swap link. But selecting the best possible link can be very crucial. The edge is chosen from the minimum diameter spanning tree that has been communication overhead and minimizes the time required to adopt routing in case of failure. Spanning tree is based on the labeling and collections of systems in a network using logical topology networks this allows deciding in constant time whether node is leaf node or ischolar_maining node using round trip time. The selection of high quality swap links is essential for a reliable communication and it must follow the same objective as the originally chosen communication sub networks. A distributed algorithm that efficiently computes all of these swap links, and how to route messages across swap edges with a compact routing scheme. Spanning tree is based on the labeling and collections of systems in a network using logical topology networks. This allows deciding in constant time whether node is leaf node or ischolar_maining node using round trip time. Finding the minimum diameter tree in a graph with edge weights. This will minimize the maximum travel time of messages. Hence, each swap link must minimize (among all possible swaps) the diameter of the tree when swapping the edge. We propose a distributed algorithm that efficiently computes all of these swap links, and how to route messages across swap edges with a compact routing scheme. Virtual LAN (VLAN) refers to a group of logically networked devices on one or more LANs that are configured so that they can communicate as if they were attached to the same wire, when in fact they are located on a number of different LAN segments. Because VLANs are based on logical instead of physical connections, it is very flexible for user/host management, bandwidth allocation and resource optimization.Keywords

Steganography is the technique of hiding private or sensitive information within something that appears to be nothing out of the usual. Steganography in the modern day sense of the word usually refers to information or a file that has been concealed inside a digital Picture, Video or Audio file. Detecting the use of Steganography inside of a file is done by Steganalysis. It does not deal with trying to decrypt the hidden information inside of a file, just discovering it. The most common use of Steganography is to hide a file inside another file. Steganography is often confused with cryptology (cryptography) because the two are similar in the way that they both are used to protect important information. Cryptography is the study of hiding information, while Steganography deals with composing hidden messages so that only the sender and the receiver know that the message even exists. In cryptography the existence of the encrypted message is visible to the world. Due to this, Steganography removes the unwanted attention coming to the hidden message. If a person or many views the object that the information is hidden inside of, they will have no idea that there is any hidden information, therefore the person will not attempt to decrypt the information. In Steganography, when information or a file is hidden inside a carrier file, the data is usually encrypted with a password.Keywords

Data mining is the process of extracting interesting and previously unknown patterns and correlation form huge data stored in data bases. Association rule mining-a descriptive mining technique of data mining is the process of discovering items or literals which tend to occur together in transactions. The problem of the data mining is discovering association rules from databases of transactions where each transaction consists of a set of items. The most time consuming operation in this discovery process is the computation of the frequency of the occurrences of interesting subset of items. Most of the previous research based on Apriori, which suffers with generation of huge number of candidate item sets and performs repeated passes for finding frequent item sets. To address this problem, in the proposed algorithm for finding frequent K-item sets in which the database is not used at all for counting the support of candidate item sets after the first pass. This makes the size of the encoding much smaller than the database, thus saving much reading effort. The Experimental Results are included.Keywords

Maintaining the information for future purpose is very important in database technology. Whenever the information is needed, then it refers the database, process query and finally produces the result. Database maintains the billion of information. User maintains their information in different database. So whenever they need, they collect it from different database. User cannot easily collect their information from different database without having database knowledge. The current database interfaces are just collecting the information from many databases. The present day’s web searching capabilities, networking and computational efficiency has allowed the user with huge bandwidth and very fast downloading speeds, but the time wasted in browsing through the uninteresting documents is enormous. The unstructured characteristic of the information sources on the Web makes automated discovery of Web information difficult. The goal of the paper is to design a new method in the Web Content Mining category and to describe its prototype implementation and the first experiments. The proposed method concerns the problem and how to determine a relevance ranking of web pages with respect to a given query.

Many physiological disorders such as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) or injuries such as high-level spinal cord injury can disrupt the communication path between the brain and the body. People with severe motor disabilities may lose all voluntary muscle control, including eye movements. These people are forced to accept a reduced quality of life, resulting in dependence on caretakers and escalating social costs. Most of the existing assistive technology devices for these patients are not possible because these devices are dependent on motor activities specific parts of the body. Alternative control paradigms for these individuals are thus desirable.
Brain-computer interface (BCI) has emerged as a new frontier in assistive technology (AT) since it could provide an alternative communication channel between a user‟s brain and the outside world. Other terms that are also used in the literature for referring to a BCI system include: brain interface (BI), direct brain interface (DBI), and brain machine interface (BMI).
A BCI system allows individuals with motor disabilities to control objects in their environments (such as a light switch in their room or television, wheelchairs, neural prosthesis and computers) using their brain signals only. This could be accomplished by measuring specific features of the user‟s brain activity that relate to his/her intent to perform the control. This specific type of brain activity is termed a “neurological phenomenon”.
BCI, is a communication system in which the brain does not use nerves to give orders to your body or to the world outside. "A BCI provides its user with an alternative method for acting on the world". Brain-computer interface (BCI) is a direct connection between computer(s) and the human brain. Currently research is being conducted the fields of neuroscience and neuroengineering regarding BCI and BMI. Using chips implanted against the brain that have hundreds of pins less than the width of a human hair protruding from them and penetrating the cerebral cortex, scientists are able to read the firings of hundreds of neurons in the brain.
Research on BCIs began in the 1970s, but it wasn't until the mid-1990s that the first working experimental implants in humans appeared. Following years of animal experimentation, early working implants in humans now exist, designed to restore damaged hearing, sight and movement.
Man-Machine interface has been one of the growing fields of research and development in recent years. Most of the effort has been dedicated to the design of user-friendly or ergonomic systems by means of innovative interfaces such as voice recognition, virtual reality. A direct brain-computer interface would add a new dimension to man-machine interaction. Interesting research work in this direction has been already initiated, motivated by the hope to create new communication channels for those with severe motor disabilities.

In vapour absorption Refrigeration system, it generates fresh drinking water and also extracts water from humid ambient air by using Cooling Condensation process offers the possibility of using heat to provide cooling. In this method refrigerant circulates through a condenser and an evaporator coil which cools the air surrounding it, lowering the air's dew point and causing water to condense. A controlled-speed fan pushes filtered air over the coil. The resulting water is then passed into a holding tank with purification and filtration system to keep the water pure. For this purpose heat from a conventional boiler can be used or waste heat and solar energy. When the latter systems are used absorption systems minimize also the adverse effects of burning fossil fuels and thus protect the environment. Absorption systems fall into two major categories, depending on the working fluids. These are the ammonia-water systems, in which ammonia is the refrigerant and lithium bromide-water systems in which water vapor is the refrigerant. The future trends of research in this area would be on other refrigerant pairs which will be more effective.Keywords

The adsorption of Rhodamine B (Basic dye) on Leucaena leucocephala seed shell waste carbon was investigated to assess the possible use of this adsorbent for the processing of dyeing industry wastewater. The influence of various factors such as initial dye concentration, agitation time and temperature on the adsorption capacity has been studied. The percentage removal of dye is observed to decrease with the increase in initial dye concentration. With increase in temperature the adsorption of dye also increases, indicating endothermic nature of the reaction. Adsorption isothermal data could be interpreted by the Langmuir and Freundlich equations. Kinetic data have been studied using Elovich and Pseudo-second order equations for understanding the reaction mechanism.Keywords

Studies on removal of Cr (VI) from aqueous solution using activated pomegranate peel carbon have been carried out at 32°C. Various parameters such as initial concentration of adsorbate, pH, adsorbent dosage and agitation time were studied by conducting batch mode experiments. The experimental adsorption data fitted reasonably well to Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption isotherms. The adsorption follows Lagergren first order kinetic model. The thermodynamic parameter enthalpy change (DH) suggests exothermic nature of adsorption of Cr(VI) on to activated pomegranate peel carbon.- Dual Cluster Head Algorithm for Proficient Routing in Wireless Sensor Networks

Objectives: In cluster based algorithms, the group head needs to do the transmission, gathering, aggregation, collection and the timing administration. Due to this the head of the cluster will lose its energy rapidly and another head ought to be found. A new election process creates unwelcome control message movement in that particular network. The main objective is to reduce the number of elections hence the wastage of energy can be minimized. Methods/Statistical Analysis: To reduce the number of election we propose our model Dual Cluster Head Protocol (DCH). The key idea is to have a group head and sub group head, where the work load will be shared between them. The sub head will perform the information gathering and aggregation inside the cluster and it will report just to the main cluster head. The clusters will be managed by the Sub-Cluster Head (SCH) node, but the session management will be carried out by the cluster head. All the outward communications will be carried out by main cluster head; also it relays the information from other heads. Findings: Our algorithm uses lesser amount of control messages than other conventional algorithms since the number of cluster head re-elections is reduced. The performance of the algorithm matches with protocols like LEACH and SEECH. We have used 3 scenarios for testing the protocol; in the first scenario with 100 nodes DCH protocol performed 31% better than SEECH and 86% better than LEACH. In second scenario with 400 nodes DCH protocol performed 6% better than SEECH and 20% better than LEACH. In third scenario with 1000 nodes DCH protocol performed 38% better than LEACH but fell short of 45% when compared with SEECH. Application/Improvements: Right now the algorithm performs well in low and medium density sensor fields. It can be improved to work efficiently in high density sensor fields. The comparison can be made with newer protocols like HEEDKeywords

In medical field, patients generally need highly equipped systems because of their inability to access emergency systems. In such situation, high level of security must be ensured to prevent fatal medical errors. RFID technology is generally used in the medical environment. Applications of elliptic curve algorithm are considered and several cryptography modules are analyzed. Heavy weight schemes are considered to be highly secure. Security drawbacks have been analyzed in Godor and Imre scheme in terms of maximum delay and running time and improved encryption and decryption scheme has been proposed. The proposed algorithm has been simulated in Xilinx 14.5 ISE and worst case slack, running time and frequency has been analyzed.Keywords

Objectives: Extracting relevant information from large database is attaining huge significance. Clustering of relevant information from large database becomes difficult. The major objective of this work is to proposed novel clustering methods for solving clustering problem. Methods/Statistical Analysis: This proposed work introduces possibility of a novel approach Hybrid Artificial Bee Colony-Firefly Algorithm (HABC-FA) for clustering to solve the clustering problem in the benchmark datasets like Fisher’s iris dataset. Here this FA incorporates its genome behavior of fireflies to accomplish the optimal clustering solution with ABC. The performance of this novel algorithm Hybrid ABC-FA is then compared with existing clustering algorithms like the ABC and hybrid Particle Swarm Artificial Bee Colony (PSABC) with regard to different statistical criteria making use three different types of benchmark datasets. Findings: The experimentation results prove that the proposed scheme performs better than the existing Swarm Intelligence (SI) based algorithms like ABC and PSABC in terms of speed and success rate and the proposed HABC-FA algorithm performance evaluates by using clustering parameters like recall, precision and F-measure. Two independent experiments were performed to isolate diseases cell lines of Cleome viscosa from leaf segments. In the first experiment, callus induction was obtained on Murashige and Skoog medium with different concentrations of Thidiazuron (TDZ). Best dedifferentiation rates of 2.08 g fresh weight occurred in the presence of 2.0 mg/l. In the second experiment, Aspergillus nigar and Aspergillus flavus were prominently isolated from garden soil and infected leaves respectively. Biochemical studies of anthocyanin accumulation at the different elicitor treated callus tissue revealed isolation and characterization of diseases resistant cell lines. Among different concentration, 0.5 gm/l mycelia of both fungal strains elucitate the maximam accumulation of anthocyanin. The best accumulation of anthocyanin was achieved with elicitors of A. flavus. Hence, pathogenic fungi are more effective for elicitation and to develop diseases resistant traits.Keywords

The waste products of the society is collected, carried and disposed by suitable treatment methods. Domestic waste water contains a considerable amount of pathogenic organisms besides the non-biodegradable organics. The conventional technologies followed for the treatment of domestic waste water are less efficient in removing pathogenic organisms despite substantial removal of dissolved organics. In the present investigation an attempt was made to treat the sewage waste water in Fluidized Immobilized Catalytic Carbon Oxidation (FICCO) reactor. In this study rice husk carbon is used as the catalyst, in which the contaminants adsorb the catalyst. The main objective of the present study is to assess the efficiency of reducing the organic pollutant in the waste water through fluidized immobilized carbon catalytic oxidation cell reactor with minimum sludge production. The effective removal of organic pollutants through various concentrations of starch, protein, surfactant, catalyst loading, and time was found to be most successful in reducing the COD and BOD removal efficiencies of the FICCO reactor. The rice husk carbon was efficient enough to reduce COD, BOD by 91.6% and 84% respectively. The consistent removal of pollution parameters was accompanied with the removal of pathogenic and antibiotic resistant bacteria. The sludge production is only 60% of the conventional sewage treatment plant. The investment cost towards sewage treatment plant by employing rice husk carbon would be drastically reduced and thereby the operational cost towards electrical energy consumption will also be very much reduced. The reactor C with upper hopper length of 3.5cm is considered to be the desired optimum condition for running the reactor with high COD and BOD removal efficiencies.- A Study on Biometric Template Security

The increasing popularity of biometrics and cryptography is driven by the widespread stipulation on information security. Abundant efforts have been made in developing successful methods in these areas in order to accomplish an enhanced level of information security. There are two dominant issues in information security enhancement. One is to defend the user ownership and control the access to information by authenticating an individual's identity. The other is to make sure the privacy and integrity of information and to secure communication. Cryptography is the science of writing in secret code. Secret-key cryptography and public-key cryptography are the two most important cryptographic architectures. The security of a cryptographic system is reliant on the secrecy of the cryptographic key. Biometric authentication or simply biometrics refers to establishing automatic personal recognition based on the physical and behavioral characteristics of an individual (e.g. face, voice, fingerprint, gait, hand geometry, iris, gene, etc.). Biometrics offers superior security and easier than traditional identity authentication systems (based on passwords and cryptographic keys).Since biometrics characteristics are naturally related with a particular individual, making them insusceptible to being stolen, forgotten, lost or attached. This paper presents a survey on various techniques proposed earlier in developing an authentication system for ensuring individual's information security by combining biometric characteristics of that particular individual and the cryptographic techniques. In addition, it provides some fundamental idea for future research that may help in eliminating the problems associated with the present authentication systems.Keywords

The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of sports specific training on plyometric, speed, speed endurance, strength, strength endurance and agility of inter college men football players. It had to test out on students divided by two groups experimental and control group each consisted of 15 students. It was hypothesized that there would be significant changes in the effect of plyometric training on speed, speed endurance; strength, strength endurance and agility of inter college men football players. The experimental group underwent the plyometric training for a period of twelve weeks, whereas the control group did not invole in any strenuous physical activity during the course of study. However both the groups were permitted to go their routine curriculum. The study was formulated as a random group design. The subjects were tested at the beginning (pre-test) and at the end of the experimental period (post-test) was taken after a twelve weeks. With the help of ANOVA was used for statistical analyzed. The result shows that experimental group showed remarkable increases in the speed, speed endurance, strength, strength endurance and agility than the control group.Keywords

Autism is widely regarded to be the most severe of the childhood psychiatric conditions. It is a developmental disorder and is diagnosed on the basis of abnormal social development, abnormal communicative development, and the presence of narrow, restricted interests and repetitive activity, along with limited imaginative ability. The symptoms are usually evident by the age of three years. All the levels of IQ can occur in autism, but there is significant mental retardation in some three-quarters of the cases. The present study was to find out the relationship between Level of Intelligence & Social Quotient among children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) with regards to severity of the condition. The results shows while severity of Autism increases, the level of intelligence is found to be reduced and there is strong positive correlation between level of intelligence and social quotient among children with ASD.Keywords

Carnation cultivation is being carried out under protected environmental conditions in the hilly regions of Tamil Nadu. Farmyard manure, vermicompost, cocopeat constituted the media components in the consortium. The components were added based on the ratio of carbon-nitrogen level, as two levels with 20 kg and 30 kg of consortia for 1 sq.m of area. The media consortia components were added as per the treatment schedules after bed preparation. The biofertilizers Azospirillum, phosphobacteria, VAM and biocontrol agents Trichoderma viridae, Pseudomonas fluorescens were added each @ 20 g/m2 at bimonthly intervals except control. The beds added with consortia at the ratio of 10:1:1 (30 kg of consortia) with 25 kg of farmyard manure, 2.5 kg of vermicompost, 2.5 kg of cocopeat with biofertilizers Azospirillum, phosphobacteria, VAM and biocontrol agents Trichoderma viridae, Pseudomonas fluorescens @ 20 g/m2 at bimonthly intervals proved best in terms of yield and quality when compared to control. Yield of carnation flowers increased with 249.48, 352.80, 201.60 flowers/m2 over control with 180.00, 234.00, 180.00 flowers/m2 during Ist, IInd and IIIrd flush of flowering and stalk length with 77.30 73.20, 71.50 cm over control with 60.00, 58.50, 54.00 cm during Ist, IInd and IIIrd flush of flowering. The media consortia helps in retaining the soil compactness with respect to soil moisture, aeration porosity and the plant growth promoting organisms helps in mobilizing the nutrients and crop stand till the cropping period.

Considering the importance of safe food, avoiding of excess pesticide application and pesticide pollution the present study was conducted. In this experiment totally four pesticides were tested against cowpea aphid Aphis craccivora under pot culture experiment at College of Agricultural Technology, Theni. Among the four acetamprid 20 SP (0.125g/ml) proved highly effective against Aphis craccivora compared to the rest of the pesticides with mortality of 98.75 per cent. In case of dosage wise acetamprid 20 SL (0.125g/ml) and imidacloprid17.8 SL(0.25ml/l) proved to be highly effective with mortality percentage of 98.33 and 86.66, respectively. Thus, it is concluded that all the studied pesticides, Acetamprid proved effective to control the cowpea aphids.Keywords

Error correction codes are commonly used to protect memories from soft errors, which change the logical value of memory cells without damaging the circuit. As technology scales, memory devices become larger and more powerful error correction codes are needed. Majority logic decoding is efficient technique due to their capability to correct multi number of errors, less time and area consumption. The proposed error-detection and correction is achieved by using 2D parity check, checksum, CRC methods with majority logic decoding. This proposed method is more efficient than the existing method as it reduces the memory access time when there is no error in the data read. In this study, we investigated the heat and mass transfer in Casson fluid flow past an infinite vertical porous plate in the presence of thermal radiation and chemical reaction. The governing equations of the flow, heat and mass transfer are transformed into a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations and solved analytically by the perturbation technique. The results obtained show that the velocity, temperature and concentration fields are appreciably influenced by the chemical reaction, thermal stratification and magnetic field. It is observed that the thermal radiation and magnetic field decreases the velocity, temperature and concentration profiles. There is also considerable effects of magnetic field and chemical reaction on skin friction coefficient and Nusselt number.Keywords

An adder is a digital circuit that performs addition. In many computers and other kinds of processors adders are used in the Arithmetic Logic Units (ALU). They are also utilized in other parts of the processor, where they are used to calculate addresses, increment and decrement operators, and similar operations. The rapid increase in the number of transistors on chips has enabled a dramatic increase in the performance of computing systems. Area optimization is also considered as a major factor in deciding the effectiveness and this can be achieved by reducing the transistor count.

A photoreactor with 254 nm, 16 W UV lamp was evaluated for phenanthrene (PHE) degradation. The effect of operating variables such as initial PHE concentration (1000–1500 μg/l), catalyst dosage (0.1– 0.9 g/l) and pH (3.0–9.0) on PHE degradation was investigated in detail. The batch study of photocatalytic process showed 83.5% PHE degradation and 60.2% TOC removal for optimized values (PHE concentration – 1000 μg/l, TiO2 dosage – 0.5 g/l and pH – 3.0) during 3 h reaction. The photocatalytic degradation of PHE was found to follow pseudo-first-order kinetics. The results obtained from continuous process revealed that nano TiO2 could be used for industrial applications because of its potential for long-term operations. Response surface methodology (RSM) with Design Expert software was used to analyse the obtained experimental data.Keywords

Heavy metals and organic contaminants are reported in sewage discharged sites. Screening and assessment of their toxic concentration in soils of the discharged sites of major cities in Tamil Nadu, India have been carried out in the present study. The major cities included Coimbatore (Ukkadam; U), Madurai (Avanaiyapuram; A), Tiruchirappalli (Rettamalai; R), Nesapakkam (N) and Koyambedu (K) Chennai Corporation. The total aquaregia-extractable concentrations of cadmium, chromium, lead and nickel were measured and found to be highest in U, followed by A, R, N and K. Their potential bioavailabilities were quantified in the following order: Cd – N > U > K > R > A; Cr – N > A > K > R > U; Pb – N > K > R; U > A; Ni – N > K > R > U > A. Bioavailable Factor was found to be highest for Cd in U (2.9%–83%) followed by Cr in N (1.1%–62.3%) and Ni in (1.70%– 52.7%) N. With regard to organic contamination, the major pesticides belonged to 13 organochlorine, 10 organophosphate and 8 synthetic pyrethroids reported below detectable concentration. Among the 16 US EPA priority poly aromatic hydrocarbon (PAHs) only 15 were detected. However, PAHs were found to be less than the permissible concentration for soils (0.3 mg kg–1) in sewage-contaminated sites. The results show that there is potential risk of transfer of heavy metals to higher trophic level of the food chain.Keywords

This paper provides the solution for smart mobility to the people who are unfamiliar with the routes on campus. The proposed automated evehicle contains four wheels - one wheel at the front end and three wheels at the rear end to get a proper balance. It also contains a keyboard Switch with which the user keys their destination point as an input to the system. It is programmed to take the travelers automatically to the destination based on the input provided by the travelers. This is done by automating the main controls like accelerator, brakes and hand bar. Each control is handled by an individual motor. The Servomotor is used to control acceleration whereas the braking and steering of hand bar are controlled by 12V and 24V geared DC motor. Brushless DC motor (BLDC) of rating 48V is used as a main drive. It is responsible for the movement of vehicles. To accomplish zero chance of accident occurrence, ultrasonic sensors are employed. Three numbers of ultrasonic sensors are placed at the front of the vehicle. These sensors help us to detect the obstacle along its way. It gives out a signal when any obstacle is sensed. Global Positioning System (GPS) module helps up to identify the vehicle location on the Earth by coordinates in the form of latitude and longitude. Through this module, the coordinate that the vehicle has to travel is identified and fed into the Arduino microcontroller. At every instance, the present location of the vehicle is compared with the pre-loaded coordinates. Finally, the Arduino microcontroller works with the data from these components and generates the control signals to drive the vehicle in a programmed route. The developed simple Cybernetic E Vehicle is tested in real time.Keywords

Human face recognition has the most noteworthy role in detecting a person in many real-world scenarios in computer vision like identification, authentication, security, and so on. Face recognition typically acquires the features and compares them to a dataset to discover the best match. The existing methods failed to accurately extract the robust features for face recognition. To solve these issues, Gaussian Diffusive Hartigan Multidimensional Deep Belief Divergence Feature Learning (GDH-MDBDFL) method is proposed based on the Fractional Partial Differential Equation (FPDE) for face recognition. The proposed GDH-MDBDFL method is designed to improve the accuracy of face recognition using FPDE. The proposed GDH-MDBDFL method comprises three different layers such as input, output, and four hidden layers. Both qualitative and quantitative result analysis is presented to verify the effectiveness of the proposed GDH-MDBDFL method. The simulation results, the proposed GDH-MDBDFL method gives the higher recognition accuracy, and precision with lesser recognition time compared to the conventional methods.Keywords
