Abstract

This Paper describes a novel method of Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) drive system, using Sliding mode (SMC) this is proposed method and Proportional Integral (PI) Controller this is existing method. In this paper Torque ripple is a major drawback of switched reluctance motor drive system, which causes undesirable vibration and acoustic noise. The approach focuses on maximizing torque density and minimizing torque ripple considering stator and rotor geometry parameters. So we comparing the result of proposed(SMC) and existing method(PI). Based on analytical procedure is developed in Matlab to compute the value of inductance and average torque. Torque ripple is evaluated from the inductance ratio, which gives direct measure of the torque overlap of adjacent phases. The optimization procedure is tested on Four-Phase Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM). The result was analyzed and the proposed topologies were simulated using MATLAB/Simulink software package and the results were obtained. The computer simulation results support the proposed methods.

Abstract

Background/Objectives: IOT is the network of physical objects that are incorporated with electronics, software, sensors and connectivity to enable objects to exchange data with the manufacturer/operator/other devices connected. The objective of this paper is to monitor and control the smart home system from anywhere around the world. Methods/Statistical Analysis: With more and more applications of IOT in various domain, it also steps into smart homes. Smart home system is one of the most essential application using IOT. In this paper the ZigBee technology is used for the networking of smart things i.e., the objects that are to be monitored and controlled. The smart home system consists of various sensors like temperature sensor, motion sensor, air flow sensor, ultrasound sensor and actuators for controlling the smart home system. These sensors are connected to the ZigBee modules which are interfaced with Arduino boards. This setup forms the network with the WiFi modem through which the monitored data's are entered into the internet server. An android application is established with which the user can monitor his/her home anywhere in the world. The performance of IEEE 802.15.4 (ZigBee) is also analyzed, which includes the parameters such as the SNR and BER. This is in dubiously going to be a mile stone for the next generation since it moves the field forward by automation of home. Findings: The performance analysis of SNR and BER was carried out it was inferred that as SNR increases the BER decreases with respect to the number of bits transmitted. Application/Improvements: Android application can be developed to monitor and control the smart home system.

Abstract

Aim and Objective: The aim of study is to assess and compare the lipid profiles among diabetic and coronary artery disease (CAD) patients receiving statin therapy. Methods: This retrospective observational study was carried out in a cardiac specialty hospital for a period of 6 months from January - June 2015. The inclusion criteria included adult patients greater than 18 years of age with the diagnosis of coronary artery disease or diabetes mellitus receiving statin therapy. CAD patients with any other co morbidity were excluded in the study. Lipid profile such as low-density lipoproteins (LDL), high-density lipoproteins (HDL), very-low-density lipoprotein (VLDL), total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TGL) were assessed. Results: The overall prevalence of dyslipidemia in our CAD patients was greater. More number of male patients was affected with CAD and diabetes when compared to female patients. No significant changes were observed in HDL levels. The study concludes that the incidence and the lipid profile for both the study groups were found to be high. The lipid parameters were assessed and compared for both the study groups which showed statistically no significance difference. Aggressive therapy of diabetic dyslipidemia will probably reduce the risk of coronary heart diseases (CHD) in patients with diabetes. Lowering triglycerides and increasing HDL cholesterol with a fibrate is associated with a reduction in cardiovascular events in patients with clinical CHD, low HDL, and near-normal levels of LDL.
