An integrated analysis of basement map and fault patterns has revealed that the Cauvery basin came into existence in a tensional regime which existed during the taphrogenic fragmentation of eastern Gondwanaland (Late Jurassic-Early Cretaceous). The main trend of tectonic elements is NE-SW and it changes to NNE-SSW towards southern part of the basin. This change of trend is attributed to post-rift kinematics associated with counterclockwise movement of the Sri Lankan massif away from the Indian craton. The orthogonal trends which form transfer zones are responsible for conservation of regional extensional strain.
It is observed that there is a good correlation between hydrocarbon occurences, transfer zones and fault sets. Synthesis of tectonic, geochemical and lithostratigraphic data has led to better understanding of the role of Basement Configuration in hydrocarbon accumulation patterns.

Gerontology which is the study of all the processes of aging must be understood from the cultural point of view. Socio-cultural factors are also important for studying gerontological processes. The processes of aging and the aged have always interested man. The study of aging is a vastly varied field. It is, of necessity, a multidisciplinary approach, which is both its strength and weakness. Many disciplines such as anthropology, sociology, psychology, and biology blend together for the study of aging and reminds us that human behavior is multifaceted. Healthy ageing is a priority area of global concern for the World Health Organization. This paper deals with the study of elderly aging above 60 years. The paper is based on the study conducted among the elderly villagers of both the sexes in Naggar Village of Himachal Pradesh. 160 samples (89 males and 79 females) were collected for the present study,for present study purposive sampling was used for data collection. The present paper deals with the general attitudes and opinions of elderly about Health Status, desire for longevity and life satisfaction. Hypertension was found to be a major health problem among the elderly. As regards to general attitudes and opinions, more male elderly were desirous of greater longevity than the elderly females. And life satisfaction was found to be higher among the elderly males of the present sample as compared to elderly females. Female elderly with economically independent were found to be more confident, satisfied, desired for longer life and had good relationship with their childrenas compare to dependent.Keywords

Objective: Increase in production by maintaining quality of products with economical machining processes is main need of industry. A product can be made economical by reducing expenses of machining or by optimum use of tools. So if we use carbide, HSS tools as according to process, we can overcome these obstacles. In this paper we use two types of index able cutters and optimize their results. Both cutters have similar functions such as milling, gangue milling and side and face milling. Methods: Index able cutters are mostly used for bulk production in automotive industries, agriculture industries to produce hubs, brackets, structural parts etc. Mostly two types of cutters TPKN cutter (three edges) and SPKN (four edges) are used. There are used for machining of high strength material like aluminum. Many of the factors affect machining quality as well as the tool life. In this paper we have used to study how different parameters of both the tools affects machining of SG iron with index able cutters to achieve better results with changes in different parameters are analyzed and optimized by L18 orthogonal array with Taguchi methodology. By which we can decide which one of tool is more convenient to use as compare to another one. Findings: In this research we have concluded how different parameters affect SPKN and TPKN tools. Comparison of both the cutters has been done for same conditions of variable parameters. Applications: Machining in gang milling, face milling, side and face milling.Keywords

It is well known that Coal is an important fossil fuel and is used as a major source of energy in power plants and blast furnaces, but minerals in coal inhibit the effective utilization of coals. These are kind of troublesome materials in the cumbustors by forming the ash during combustion of coal. Industrial demand of coal with minimum ash content so that it can be efficiently used in metallurgical process, or, power plants. This paper reviews the removal of ash-forming minerals of coal using solvents by chemical techniques. Solvents, like N-Methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP), 1-methyl naphthalene (MN), Dimethylformamide (DMF), Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) can be used to reduce the ash content of coal. However, polar solvents have been proved to extract greater amounts of coal and reduce ash to a greater extent than non-polar solvents, particularly for lower rank or sub-bituminous coals. However, if non-polar solvents are used, then traces of polar additives can also increase the extraction of coal as well as cause greater reduction of the ash content. The degree of ash reduction depends not only on the solvent used, but also on the extraction temperature, time and rank of coals.Keywords

The experiment consisting of 2 intercropping patterns, 3 methods of fertilizer application, 2 nitrogen doses in maize along with 2 sole crop treatments in n +2 Factorial Randomized Block Design with three replications was conducted at Bhagwant University during the Kharif 2016. The results revealed that planting patterns remained statistically equal with respect to cob yield, grain yield and yield attributes viz., cob length, cob girth and number of grain rows per cob, number of grains per row and number of grains per cob. Furrow application of fertilizers recorded significantly higher cob length, higher number of grains per cob, number of grain per row, cob yield and grain yield than broadcast but remained at par with side placement. Between nitrogen doses, 100 per cent recommended nitrogen recorded significantly higher cob length, number of grains per row, number of grain per cob, cob yield and grain yields than 75 per cent. Significantly more grain yield of intercropped urdbean was obtained in under paired row planting method than normal planting. Grain yield of urdbean did not vary significantly due to N fertilization and different methods of fertilizer application in maize. Maize grain equivalent yield was found significantly higher in paired row system than normal planting. Different methods of fertilizer application and N dose did not produce significant variations in MGEY. Intercropping of maize showed significantly more MGEY than sole cropping. Intercropping of urdbean in between paired row maize gave significantly higher gross and net returns than normal planting. Method of fertilizer application and dose of nitrogen did not cause significant variation in monetary advantage. Maize may be fertilized with 75 per cent recommended dose of nitrogen in association with legumes. Furrow placement of fertilizers is superior to other methods.Keywords

Evaporation is one of the main elements affecting water storage and temperature in the hydrological cycle and it plays an important role in evaluation of water availability. Considering the difficulty involved in direct method of evaporation estimation and limitation of empirical methods, an attempt has been made to estimate evaporation by multiple linear regression with the aid of gamma test (GT). The data of meteorological parameters viz., average temperature (Tavg), wind speed (W), average relative humidity (Rhavg) and sunshine hours (S) were used as input parameters and evaporation was considered as output parameter. The performance of developed model was evaluated in terms of mean squared error (MSE) and correlation co-efficient (r). In developed model, MSE was found to be 1.13 and 0.92 in training and testing phase, respectively. The model demonstrated good values of correlation co-efficient, respectively as 0.91 and 0.95 for training and testing period indicating the suitability of model to estimate the evaporation.Keywords

A field experiment was conducted during sammer and Kharif season of 2010 and 2011 at research farm of A. S, (PG) College, Lakhaoti, Bulandsahar, U.P. to Studies on phosphorus and PSB management in different varieties of summer mungbean and its effect on succeeding fodder sorghum. The Experiment was laid out in a Factorial Randomized Block Design (FRBD) keeping three-treatments of bold seeded green gram varieties (Pant-moong-5, Pusa Vishal, Pusa 9531) of in main plots and six treatments of phosphorus and biofertilizers in sub-plots. Results revealed that the different varieties of mungbean to phosphorus upto 50 kg P2O5 ha-1 and inoculation of seed with PSB (25 kg ha-1) increased the plant height (49.13 and 51.15 cm), number of nodules plant-1 (17.35 and 16.50) and availability of nutrient N (361and 364 kg ha-1), P (13.23 and 13.36 kg ha-1) except K and green fodder yield (546 q ha-1 at harvest time) of succeeding fodder sorghum crop.Keywords

We investigate the role of momentum-dependent interactions on the fragmentation of asymmetric colliding nuclei using isospin-dependent quantum molecular dynamics model. In particular, we study both central and peripheral collisions of 40Ar+64Cu, 40Ar+108Ag and 40Ar+197Au. Our investigations reveal significant role of momentum-dependent interactions on the fragmentation pattern in asymmetric colliding nuclei. The relative role of different model ingredients changes depending on the asymmetry of the colliding pair.Keywords

The tremendous development in wireless technologies and multimedia applications persuaded upsurge in spectrum utilization in the past. One of the adequate clarifications to overwhelm this limitation is by using Cognitive Radios (CR). These networks are likely to boost spectrum consumption professionally by permitting Secondary Users (SUs) to take advantage of the use of the approved spectrum of primary users (PUs). CR is a kind of a sensible radio that can sense the extraneous surroundings, analyze the past and build perspicacious conclusions to switch its transmission factors in step with the current state of the atmosphere. An Ad-hoc Network engaging Cognitive Radios (CR) can often be termed as Cognitive Radio Adhoc Network (CRAHN). Routing in CRAHN is not an easy mission due to spectrum availability, power, link stability, etc. Among all the parameters, the one among the best parameter for route selection is throughput. Since several applications need a high value of throughput like Audio & Video Broadcasting, Interactive audio & Video Streaming, etc. and some require the low value of throughput like E-mail, Telnet, etc. This paper design a routing strategy based on finding an optimal throughput path using fuzzy logic. To show the efficiency of a designed scheme it is compared with the shortest path routing mechanism. Our result shows that the proposed method is efficient than Shortest Spectrum.Keywords

The present study assessed the virtual water trade and comparative advantages in rice exports. It suggests realigning the Indian rice ecosystem based on the demand–supply gap, groundwater exploitation, productivity growth and untapped productivity potential. It also advocates the phased shifting of acreage under common (non-basmati) rice production to potential regions identified as suitable. The proposed shifting of cultivation will lead to achieving a sustainable rice ecosystem, conserving the natural resource base and reducing risk in terms of environmental and economic factors. Emerging practices such as dry direct-seeded rice, and the system of rice intensification could be effectively used for sustainable rice ecosystem in India.Keywords
