Intellectual disability is a life long disability that presents in infancy or the early childhood years but it cannot be diagnosed until the child is older than 5 years, when standardized measures of intelligence become reliable and valid. Five hundred intellectual disabled persons have been evaluated from different districts of Haryana state in present study. Questionnaire has been developed for the different level of intellectual disability, sex ratio, age of child as well as order of birth and diagnosis age were recorded. IQ was determined by Seguin board test. 54% moderate, 27.6% mild, 18.4% severe intellectual disability was found in present study. Prevalence higher in males (78.4%) as compared to females (21.6%). Age of Diagnosis is different in different level of intellectual disability. Maximum persons were of second order, followed by 1st order in family.Keywords

The objective of the study was to assess the knowledge of parents regarding child abuse, to find out the association between the knowledge of parents regarding child abuse with the selected socio-demographic variables, to develop and validate an information booklet regarding child abuse,. The data collection procedure was carried out in the month of April and May 2014 .The sample were taken from kheri kalan village, Faridabad. Sample of 100 parents was taken. Variables for age, sex, education, occupation, religion, socio-economic status, partial status, previous source of knowledge were matched. The gathered data was analysed by calculating the mean, percentage, standard deviation, chi square .The pie, and tables were used to present the findings of the study. Findings depicts that Majority of parents (42%) were in age category of 25-30years, 67% of the parents were female, 46% of parents are educated (senior secondary).Most of the parents 43% had the family income from (20,000-30,000), real parents 100% were in parental status, 39% of them have obtained knowledge about child abuse recently from health personnel .8% parents had good knowledge and 92% parents had average knowledge on child abuse. There is no association between knowledge score when compared to age, sex, occupation, religion, socio-economic status, parental status, previous source of knowledge expect education status. It reveals that maximum demographic variables of the parents do not affected level of knowledge expect education status.Keywords

Vaccination is the basic right of every child. This is the only way by which we can prevent many serious and communicable diseases in children. Parents are also willing to prevent these diseases in their children. A present study was a Quasi Experimental Study to Evaluate the Effectiveness of Planned Teaching Program Regarding Knowledge about Vaccines Other Than Specified in National Immunization Schedule among Parents of Under- five Children in a Selected Hospital at Gurgaon, Haryana. The main objective of the present study is to evaluate the effectiveness of planned teaching program on vaccines other than specified in national immunization schedule among parents of under five children in Aarvy hospital Gurgaon. The researcher used convenient sampling technique for selecting the samples. Total sample size was 60 out of that 30 were in experimental group and 30 were in comparison group. The data was obtained through structured knowledge questionnaire for assessing knowledge of parents about vaccines other than specified in national immunization schedule such as rotaviras vaccine, MMR vaccine, meningococcal vaccine, Japanese encephalitis vaccine etc. The finding reveals that the knowledge of parents of under five children about vaccines other than specified in national immunization schedule in pre test was 48.03% which is average knowledge and in post test it was 81.47% which falls in good category of knowledge according to set criteria. The present study found that post test knowledge level of parents of under five children has no significance with the selected socio demographic variables.Keywords

One of the most important stages in woman's life is Menopause. Menopause is the permanent shutting down of the female reproductive system, a considerable length of time before the end of life span. The average age of menopause in the western world is 51 years while as in India it is 44.3 years and the normal age range for the occurrence of menopause is somewhat between the age of 45 -55. Menopausal health demands higher priority in Indian scenario. It is characterized by major physical, psychological and social changes and is currently considered as important public health problem associated with a worse health related to quality of life. Thus the investigator felt to conduct a descriptive study to assess the level of knowledge and attitude regarding menopause among menopausal women. The objective of the study was to assess the level of knowledge and attitude regarding Menopause among Menopausal women in selected rural areas of Faridabad. To find out association between knowledge and attitude regarding the Menopause among Menopausal women in rural areas with selected demographic variables. 100 menopausal women were drawn by convenient sampling technique. The tool consists of demographic variables, which was to collect personal information about the subjects and interview technique to assess the knowledge and structured five point liker scales to assess the attitude towards the Menopause among Menopausal Woman. The finding reveals that 5% of the total subjects had good knowledge, 94% had average knowledge, 1% had poor knowledge. 98% of the total subjects had positive attitude, 2%had neutral attitude, 0% had negative attitude. There were found association significant between Attitude and occupation.Keywords
