Objective: To assess the post- operative astigmatism after conventional cataract surgery with IOL implantation.
Samples size: Fifty patient of both sexes and all age groups. Senile immature cataract (no cases with other complications were included in the study as sample.
Statistical Analysis: Data analyzed, tabulated and inferences were drawn with the help of various statistical techniques.
Findings: Post operative astigmatism with rule, against rule and no astigmatism on 3rd post operative day was 76, 06 and 18 percent respectively. While on 7th postoperative day it was 82, 14 and 04 percent, similarly on 2nd week it was 82, 14 and 04 percent. At 4th week it has changes to 76, 14 and 10 percent which further changed on 6th week and recoded 40, 54 and 06 percent. On 8th week it was 41,16 and 02 percent where on 12th week it was 58, 34 and 08 percent.
Conclusion: The general belief that cataract has to be ripe before its removal has to be changed because cataract surgery has become predictable safe and able to provide optimum satisfaction through both intraocular lens implantation and more consideration of the refractive outcome. With current cataract surgical techniques that add a measured refractive surgical component, early intervention is logical not only to prevent visual disability, but also to enhance uncorrected visual acuity.

Research Journal of Pharmacology and Pharmacodynamics, Vol 7, No 2 (2015), Pagination: 74-75Abstract
Aims and Objective:
To evaluate the impact of addiction specifically alcoholism and smoking on Glaucoma occurrence.
Material and Methods:
The study was carried out in a tertiary health care hospital, part of a medical institution. The patients attended the OPD as well as hospitalized were taken as sample. Tools used for this purpose were interview schedule various modern diagnostic technique as well as particular investigations etc.
Pro-statistics:
The data collected were tabulated and various statistical method were applied as per requirement.
Observation and Discussion:
On analysis of this data it was noticed that 8.69 percent patients suffering from Glaucoma gave history of alcoholism and 15.2% that of smoking which were more or less in accordance of various studies conducted by various researches across the Globe.
Recommendation:
Authors personally feel that more and more studies with a large number of cases must be carried out to know the association between Glaucoma to alcoholism and smoking.

Objective:
To know the association between blood pressure and Glaucoma.
Material and Methods:
The study was carried out in a tertiary health care hospital, 46 patient of both sexes and nearly all age group were taken as sample.
Statistical Analysis:
The data collected from the sampled patients, stratified tabulated, analysed and inferences were drawn and simple statistical procedure like proportion etc. were applied as per requirement.
Observation and Discussion:
34.8 percent patient had systolic blood pressure 110-129mm of Hg while 50.00% of sampled patient had diastolic pressure 80-94 mm of Hg while 23.9 percent patient presented with 140-149 mm of Hg systolic blood pressure, and 19.6 percent patients 130-139 mmHg of systolic blood pressure.
As for as diastolic BP was concerned 30.4 percent and 19.6 percent patient having diastolic BP 70-79 and 95-109mm of Hg respectively.
Conclusion and Recommendation:
The findings of the present study was more or less similar to the findings of few other studies conducted by different authors from time to time. Authors still feel that more and more such studies with bigger size of sample must be done to a clear and real picture could come and action should be taken accordingly.

Source
Research Journal of Pharmacology and Pharmacodynamics, Vol 7, No 2 (2015), Pagination: 101-102Abstract
Aims and Objective:
To analyze the Keretometric changes occurred after SICS (small incision cataract surgery)
Material and Methods:
This study was conducted in upgraded Department of Ophthalmology (Tertiary health care Hospital). A total of 50 cases selected were of senile immature cataract. There was no cases of other complication. A detailed present, post, family history, social history was obtained. All necessary examination and investigation were performed.
Statistical Analysis:
Required statistical analysis was done.
Observation and Discussion:
It was noted that incidence of Astigmatism was 26% with rule on 3rd post operative day which decreased to 20% on 6th post operative day. The cases operated by SICS showed against the rule astigmatism on 3rd post operative day. The findings of the present study were more or less in accordance of other studies.
Conclusion:
The result of this study showed less post operative astigmatism and early visual rehabilitation. SICS has come as a boon to fill in this fawning gap in between high cost, high tech phacomachine and conventional cataract surgery.
