Matrix metalloproteinases (MMP) are proteolytic enzymes that play an important role in various aspects of cancer progression. Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are a family of nine or more highly homologous Zn (++)-endopeptidases that collectively cleave most if not all of the constituents of the extracellular matrix. The present review discusses in detail the primary structures and the overlapping yet distinct substrate specificities of MMPs as well as the mode of activation of the unique MMP precursors. The regulation of MMP activity at the transcriptional level and at the extracellular level (precursor activation, inhibition of activated, mature enzymes) is also discussed. A final segment of the review details the current knowledge of the involvement of MMP in specific developmental or pathological conditions, including human periodontal diseases.Keywords

A modest investment in prevention produced substantial savings in illness-related costs. The FDA recently released its final orders concerning the labeling of sunscreen. The final monograph updates the tentative final monograph regarding over the counter (OTC) sunscreen products. Among the labeling standards are removals of the term "sun block" inclusion of a statement detailing the importance of sunscreen to prevent harmful effects of the sun, three sun protection categories: minimum, moderate, high, a new SPF category of 30+ for products with SPF values greater than 30, uniform, and streamlined labeling for all sunscreens.- Microsponges for Colon Targeted Drug Delivery System:An Overview

The drug delivery technology landscape has become highly competitive and rapidly evolving. More and more developments in delivery systems are being integrated to optimize the efficacy and cost-effectiveness of the therapy. Peptides, proteins and DNA-based therapeutics cannot be effectively delivered by conventional means. To control the delivery rate of active agents to a predetermined site in human body has been one of the biggest challenges faced by drug industry. Controlled release of drugs onto the epidermis with assurance that the drug remains primarily localized and does not enter the systemic circulation in significant amounts is an area of research that is successively done by the microsponge delivery system. When applied to the skin, the microsponge releases its active ingredient on a time mode and also in response to other stimuli (rubbing, temperature, pH, etc). Microsponge technology offers entrapment of ingredients and is believed to contribute towards reduced side effects, improved stability, increased elegance, and enhanced formulation flexibility. In addition, numerous studies have confirmed that microsponge systems are nonirritating, non-mutagenic, non-allergenic, and non-toxic. MDS technology is being used currently in cosmetics, over the- counter (OTC) skin care, sunscreens and prescription products.Keywords

Article reviews the surge of research focus, potential opportunities and challenges available in new area of colon targeted drug delivery system. Most of drugs are absorbed from upper part of GIT tract. Lack of digestive enzymes and long transit time, has been provided to design colon specific drug delivery system and review is aimed at understanding recent advancements made in multiparticulate formulation approaches, matrix, multilayer and compression coated tablets to reach colon intact to be investigated by approaches for targeting through pH sensitive system, Microbially triggered system i.e., prodrugs and polysaccharide based system, Timed release system, osmotically controlled drug system, pressure dependent release system, programmed pulsatile release system etc., Although oral delivery has become a widely acceptable route of administration, GI tracts presents several formidable barrier to drug delivery. In addition life cycle management, patient compliance, improved stability and optimization of drug absorption process are some key drivers for developing alternative delivery system of drugs.Keywords

Proper formulation is an important aspect of any dosage form design. FTIR and Differential scanning calorimeter were used to evaluate the compatibility of Gatifloxacin and selected Excipients used in the development of suspensions formulation. In the first phase of Differential scanning calorimeter was used in the any interaction. In the next phase, excipients defined as prototype formula were tested for their compatibility with Gatifloxacin. Based on the results, methyl paraben and polyvinyl pyrrolidone were found show interaction with Gatifloxacin. Results of Differential scanning calorimeter and FT-IR demonstrated incompatibility between Gatifloxacin and MethylParaben. All the excipients defined in the prototype formula were found to be compatible with Gatifloxacin. Using the Excipients that were found to be compatible with Gatifloxacin. FT-IR and Differential scanning calorimetry was used to investigate the physicochemical compatibility between Gatifloxacin and various used in suspension manufacturing. The Gatifloxacin found to be compatatible with polyvinyl alcohol and acacia. Although interactions of Gatifloxacin with methyl paraben, polyvinyl pyrrolidone were observed. It cannot be conclusive stasted that interactions incompatibility will occur during storage at room temperature.Keywords

Skin ailments are the commonest problem in the world. Mainly, all cultures in the world have believed that to use medicinal plants for skin diseases. Acne vulgaris is developed by abnormalities in sebum. it is one of the considerable problem among skin diseases. Its clinical manifestations involve both inflammatory (papules, pustules, and nodules) and non-inflammatory (comedones, open and closed) lesions. Some of the enviromental microbes such as Propionibacterium acne and Staphylococcus epidermdis, triggers the signs of the acne vulgaris. This type of skin disorder is mostly found in adolescents but also occur in all age group. Almost 95% of worldwide population affected from acne vulgaris in their life time. The main objective of this review is to compile exhaustive literature and pharmacological aspects of plants used for the treatment of acne that has been found to be very safe and effective. Plants have been selected possess active phytochemical constituents and have therapeutically significant value.Keywords

The herbal drugs have natural active compound, nutrients they may be helpful to care and treatment of wound and other human health. The number of herbal plants has been used for the treatment and management of wound over the year. Wound healing is a process of restoring normal cellular structure, function of damaged tissue. Healing is a natural phenomenon; in which the body overcome the damaged surface or tissue and they may recover the damaged part of living tissue, but this phenomena healing rate of wound is very slow and many chance of infection in wound by microbes and its several risks to body. Hence to improve the healing phenomenon and shorter the duration of recovery of the damaged tissue. In India there are many plants used traditionally to cure the wound and the human health. The present review highlights some herbal and medicinal plant with their active compound, which are scientifically used to treatment of cut, burn, or wound as a healer.Keywords
