Abstract

In battery-powered security-critical embedded platforms, security and energy are the two main concerns. In this paper, the efforts are made to identify energy-related characteristics of common security algorithms for data-sensitive embedded real-time platforms. Unlike traditional researches, this paper focuses on the influences of size of protected data on energy consumption of security algorithms. An analysis framework on potential features of energy consumption from the angles of speed, time and data size is presented. The energy features of most popular cryptographic algorithms including asymmetric and hash algorithms are well practiced All the analysis is based on protected data size measured by a processor which runs security algorithms under LINUX. This paper could provide some useful information to help the design of security-critical applications in embedded real-time platforms.

Abstract

The main objective of this system is to develop an embedded system, which is used for ATM security applications. In these systems, Bankers will collect the customer finger-vein while opening the accounts then only customer access ATM machine. The working of these ATM machine is when customer place finger on the finger vein module when it access automatically generates every time different 4-digit code as a message to the monitor. The code received by the customer should be entered by pressing the keys on the touch screen. After entering it checks whether it is a valid one or not and allows the customer further access.

Abstract

Background/Objectives: In this paper, Cuckoo Search (CS) algorithm based image multi-thresholding is proposed for optimal segmentation of RGB image by maximizing the entropy value in Kapur's method. Methods/Statistical Analysis: The aim of the paper is to search for an optimized threshold value for image segmentation using CS algorithm where fitness function is designed based on entropy of the image. The capability of CS assisted segmentation with Kapur's function is established in comparison with Firefly and PSO optimization algorithms using the universal image superiority measures existing in the literature. Findings: Results of this study show that CS with Kapur's function offers better performance measure, whereas Firefly and PSO optimization algorithms offers earlier convergence with comparatively lower CPU time. Applications/Improvements: In future, proposed method can be implemented for the medical image analysis.

Abstract

The Jasmine blister mite, Aceria jasmini Chan. is a serious eriophyid mite infesting jasmine commercially grown in many parts of South India. Due to feeding by this mite results in formation of blister like erineal patches on the jasmine leaves. Irregular patches of cottony white erineal mats seen both on adaxial and abaxial surface of the leaves supports hundred of white coloured worm- like mites. Biochemical investigations carried out in the susceptible Long and Pointed Budded variety revealed that there was nonsignificant increase in moisture content, decrease in chlorophyll, total sugars, reducing sugars, significant increase in total free amino acids, phenols, crude protein content and peroxidase activity. Among the nutrients tested, nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium contents increased, while non-significant decrease in calcium and magnesium, whereas significant decrease in iron, manganese, copper and zinc were noticed due to mite feeding.
