The present study was undertaken to evaluate the gastro-protective effect of hydro alcohol extract of Dioscorea bulbifera (DB) tubers Linn in indomethacin-induced gastric ulcers in rats at doses of 100, 200 and 400 mg/kg body weight. The gastric lesions were significantly reduced by all doses of DB as compared with the Indomethacin (100 mg/kg body weight) treated group. In the stomach tissues of treated animals, the in-vitro antioxidant levels were evaluated. The administration of indomethacin caused a significant decrease in the levels of peroxidase, catalase (CAT) and an increase in glutathione peroxidase (GPx) and reduced glutathione (GSH), and lipid peroxidation (LPO) level. The administration of all doses of DB reversed the trend, inducing a significant increase of peroxidase, Catalase and a reduction in GPx, GSH and LPO level in tissues. These results suggest that the gastro-protective effect of DB can be attributed to its reducing effect on the oxidative damage in rats.Keywords

The present study is to evaluate the in-vivo anti oxidant effect of hydro alcohol (50% aqueous ethanolic extract) extract of Nelumbo nucifera (G) flowers on streptozotocin-induced diabetes. Animals were induced for diabetes with streptozotocin (60 mg/kg of body weight, i.p.) and treated orally with hydro- alcoholic (50% aqueous ethanolic extract) extract of Nelumbo nucifera (G.) flowers in various doses (200 mg/kg and 400 mg/kg p.o). The effect of Nelumbo nucifera (G) flowers on diabetes was assessed from plasma glucose. At the end of the study, vital organs were dissected and estimated the parameters such as LPO, GSH, GPx and peroxidase. From the data obtained in this study it could be concluded that hydro alcoholic extract of Nelumbo nucifera (G) flowers seems to have potential value for the treatment of diabetic due to its Anti oxidant activity.Keywords

Carbon Fibre Reinforced Carbon (CFRC) Composite material is highly used in advanced industrial sector, especially in manufacturing of space shuttles and other expensive aerospace categories. The material's significant position and its growing importance has created interest among research community about the machining technology of this special material. This paper aims at finding the experimental drilling characteristics values of C-C composite by the combination of Taguchi method and Grey theory Technique. Manufacturing of good quality products at lower cost is the main objective of the modern industrial sector, and this is obtained by using optimal methods to the manufacturing conditions. This paper discusses about the use of Grey Theory to find the optimum drilling values. The experiments were conducted by using a Titanium Nitride coated Carbide drill tool on a carbon-carbon composite material plate with CNC Drilling Machine. This paper explains and demonstrates the influence of optimal set of characteristics, such as Spindle speed, Feed and Tool angle on the Delamination factors.Keywords

E-mail spam has become an epidemic problem that can negatively affect the usability of electronic mail as a communication means. Besides wasting users’ time and effort to scan and delete the massive amount of junk e-mails received, it consumes network bandwidth and storage space, slows down e-mail servers, and provides a medium to distribute harmful and/or offensive content. Inspired by the success of fuzzy similarity in text classification and document retrieval, the approach investigates its effectiveness in filtering spam based on the textual content of e-mail messages.

The widespread use of email has provided malicious users an easy way to distribute harmful content to the internal network. Hackers can easily circumvent the protection offered by a firewall by tunneling through the email protocol, since it does not analyze email content. Organizations often fail to acknowledge that there is a great risk of crucial data being stolen from within the company. Identifying the true type of a computer file is a difficult and important problem as hackers and malicious users use either non-standard file formats or change the extensions of files while storing or transmitting them over a network bypassing the firewall from filtering. This makes recovering data out of these files difficult and confidential data being sent away from organizations in different allowable file formats. Previous methods of file type recognition include fixed file extensions, fixed “magic numbers” stored with the files, and proprietary descriptive file wrappers. All of these methods have significant limitations. Hence it is proposed to have an content based approach for generating “fingerprints” of file types based on a set of known input files, then using the fingerprints to recognize the true type of unknown files based on their content, rather than metadata associated with them.E-mail spam has become an epidemic problem that can negatively affect the usability of electronic mail as a communication means. The present investigation was carried out at College of Horticulture, V.R. Gudem, West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh during the year 2014-15. Aim of the experiment was to find out physiological responses of turfgrass species to different methods of planting under humid tropical coastal conditions of Andhra Pradesh. The experiment was laid out in a factorial randomized block design with 4 turf grass species viz., Bermuda grass (Cynodon dactylon), Korean grass (Zoysia japonica), St. Augustine grass (Stenotaphrum secundatum) and Centipede grass (Erimochloa ophiuroides) planted with dibbling and turf plastering methods. Based on the results obtained it was concluded that dibbling method of planting and Bermuda grass species individually recorded significantly highest amounts of chlorophyll pigments, but their interaction effect was found non-significant. St. Augustine grass planted with dibbling method recorded significantly highest stolon fresh and dry weights (65.27 and 13.97 g, respectively). Bermuda grass planted with dibbling method of establishment recorded significantly highest values for ischolar_main fresh and dry weights (10.14 and 5.09 g, respectively), ischolar_main length density (12.99 cm/g-3) and ischolar_main mass density (6.45 g/ g-3). Korean grass planted with turf plastering method recorded significantly lowest stolon fresh and dry weights (26.53 and 6.34 g, respectively), ischolar_main fresh and dry weights (4.48 and 1.94 g, respectively), ischolar_main length density (6.04 cm/g-3) and ischolar_main mass density (1.93 g/g-3).Keywords

Aim of the present study was to evaluate the wound healing properties of ethanolic extract of Indigofera tinctoria on Albino wistar rat. The preliminary Phytochemical evaluation was carried out by standard methods. Burn was induced in wistar rat divided in to five groups as follow: Normal control Group-I received petroleum jelly. Group II Received Silver sulphadiazine-1%w/w,Group III received 5% extract of Indigofera tinctoria ointment, Group IV received 10% w/w Indigofera tinctoria ointment and GroupV received 20% w/w Indigofera tinctoria ointment topically twice daily for 16 days. The topical application of 20% w/w Indigofera tinctoria ointment, shows significant (P<0.001) reduction in the wound breaking strength when compared to III received 5% extract of Indigofera tinctoria ointment but not comparable with Silver sulphadiazine-1%w/w treated group.Keywords
