Small circumscribed mesenchymal lesions of the oral mucosa are of frequent occurrence. Fibroma is a non-neoplastic enlargement of the gingival which arise from the gingival connective tissue or from the periodontal ligament. They are slow growing; a spherical tumor that tends to be firm & nodular but may be soft and vascular and usually pedunculated. Hard fibromas of the gingival are rare. We report a rare case of hard fibroma in a 65-year old male. Clinical, radiographic and histopathological features along with etiopathogenesis and differential diagnosis are also discussed. Keywords

This paper deals with the efficient transmission of JPEG compressed images over Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) systems using spatial multiplexing. By exploiting the spatial multiplexing using multiple antennas, data-rate, reliability, and throughput can be improved. The JPEG compressed image is divided into different quality layer and the antenna path with highest Signal to Interference Noise Ratio (SINR) is selected to transmit the different layers of image. Depending upon the SINR of various paths, the best antenna is selected to transmit the most important feature using a simple unequal power allocation scheme. The performance is evaluated by V-BLAST Zero-Forcing (ZF) receivers. The proposed scheme provides significant image quality improvement and less distortion compared to known schemes. Keywords

A Proportional Integral derivative controller is a most commonly used feedback controller in industrial control system. Although a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller is popular and relatively simple in structure, it must also be pointed out that the unnecessary mathematical rigorosity, preciseness and accuracy involved with the design of the controllers have been a major drawback. This drawback can be highly eliminated by designing systems with PD controller to improve the system performance. In this paper genetic algorithm technique is used to design the Proportional Derivative Fuzzy logic controller. A comparative study of PD, fuzzy based PD and optimized fuzzy logic PD controller is analyzed. Simulation result shows that the optimized proportional derivative fuzzy logic controller improves the system performance in terms of rise time and settling time, besides reducing overshoot and steady state error. This approach is first simulated using MATLAB / SIMULINK using the techniques of PD- Fuzzy Logic controller. The output of the PD controller serves as an input to the DC motor [9][10]. The desired speed of the motor is then achieved by tuning the fuzzy controller with the help of genetic algorithm technique. Keywords

Structured Light Scanning (SLS) systems have become popular for their reliability and accuracy. In this work, Fringe Projection based SLS system has been developed. Usage of Multi-level Quality Guided Phase unwrapping algorithm for recovering the true phase map is presented; System calibration, along with the process of recovering depth from phase is explained. Finally measurement results are presented to reaffirm the fact that phase shifting technique along with quality guided spatial unwrapping can be used for fast, full field 3D-Scanning.Keywords

The main aim of the study was to assess the effectiveness of ginger rhizome powder to manage dysmenorrhea among selected hostel students, Coimbatore. Experimental design, post test control group was adopted in this study. By using convenient sampling technique 18 students with dysmenorrhea were selected for the study. The samples were randomly assigned to experimental n=9 and the control group n=9 respectively. The level of the menstrual pain was assessed by numerical pain intensity scale. Oral administration of ginger rhizome powder 250 mg four times a day, up to three days starting from first day of menstruation were given to experiment group. Results showed that independent t test is used to test the significant in mean difference among two groups post test scores. The calculated t value is 3.074,thus the calculated value is greater than the table value at 0.05(2.353) level of significance at 3 degrees of freedom. There is significant evidence of oral ginger rhizome powder helps in lowering the level of pain in dysmenorrhea. Keywords

Ophthalmic exercise is massage method that aims at promoting students awareness of eye production, improving blood circulation and relaxing muscles in ocular region, reducing the eye strain of students with myopia. The aim of the study to identify the effect of ophthalmic exercise among students with myopia at selected college Coimbatore. Quasi experimental one group pretest and post test research design was adopted in this study. The samples were selected using Non probability purposive sampling technique. Among 35 samples, 23 samples were Iyear, four samples were IIyear and eight samples were III year. The level of knowledge among students with myopia was assessed using self structured questionnaire before and after ophthalmic exercise. Ophthalmic exercise were demonstrated by using flashcard and slide projector and students continued to practice the exercises for 15 minutes twice a day for one week. The duration of exercise was 20 minutes. The level of eye strain was assessed by using asthenopic symptoms scale before and after intervention. It was identified that the mean level of knowledge among students with myopia during pre test and post test was 13.6 and 16.08 respectively with the standard deviation of pre test and post test was 0.64 and 1.59 respectively. The calculated ‘t ’ value 10.75 was greater than the table value 1.96 at 0.05 level of significance. It was identified that the mean level of eye strain among students during pretest and post test was 4.08 and 2 respectively with a standard deviation of pre test and post test was 2.01 and 1.19 respectively. The calculated ‘t’ value 5.94 was greater than the table value 1.96 at 0.001 Level of significance. Hence it was concluded that ophthalmic exercises is an effective intervention in reducing the level of eye strain among students with myopia. Keywords

The adrenal glands are located on the top of your kidneys, and produce adrenaline, cortisol, aldosterone, and other steroid hormones that enable the body to respond to stress. Conn's disease is a condition in which the adrenal glands produce too much aldosterone. It is frequently caused by a benign (non-cancerous) tumor of an adrenal gland. High blood pressure (hypertension) is often the only symptom of Conn's disease. In some cases, the condition can lower the level of the mineral potassium in a patient's blood. This can lead to muscle weakness, headaches, and the passing of large amounts of urine. The secondary effects of the hypertension are important - complications such as renal and retinal damage (microvascular disease) are more likely with poorly controlled hypertension which is usually the case with Conn’s syndrome - hence early detection is important. Keywords
