Abstract

The 'Tharu' tribe within and around the vicinity of Valmiki Tiger Reserve mainly depend on the vegetation around them for their daily needs as well as for the treatment of different ailments and diseases. The ethnobotanical explorations of Valmiki Tiger Reserve document here hitherto unreported ethnomedicinal uses of 58 plants species belonging to 53 genera and 41 families use by the 'Tharu'.
