Age Invariant Face Recognition (AIFR) is a new research area in the domain of face recognition that lately received a lot of interest due to its tremendous potential with relevant applications in real-world. It is very challenging research problem to extract robust features describing aging facial information, usually when broad age difference between face images are perceived. In this paper, by using the quadratic support vector machine and principal component analysis technique of feature selection that is robust to aging we address this challenge and achieved the highest accuracy as compared to other methods such as K-Neighbor Neural Network (KNN), Probabilistic Neural Network (PNN), Backpropagation Neural Network (BPNN). FGNET aging dataset is used for the implementation of proposed method which includes a total of 82 separate subjects comprising 1002 images and each subject includes 6-18 images per subject obtained primarily from scanning photographs of subjects between the age ranging from newborn to 69-year-old subjects. From the images, LBP, Gabor and shape features have been extracted and PCA is used as a method of feature reduction. Four stages have been explored in this work: (a) Face recognition (b) Identify the gender of the object (c) Identify the age of the subject using the backpropagation neural network (BPNN) (d) Age invariant face recognition using KNN, PNN, NN and QSVM-PCA. The highest accuracy is achieved using the Quadratic Support Vector Machine – Principal Component Analysis (QSVM-PCA) classifier.Keywords

Gender perspective in any discipline not only enhances its core content but also gives a wider approach to the subject matter to create a comparatively higher impact in terms of receptivity of the audience. Any society cannot blatantly give credit to a particular gender for its smooth functioning, rather every member, regardless of the gender, contributes equally to maintain a balance both in abstract and practical forms in the society. They act as an agent to sustain the structure of the society. And hence the study of dominant caste in the twenty-first century, like any other social subject necessitates not only women's perspective but also the perspective of all gender identities that any member of society relates to, be it male, gender neutral, transgender, agender, pangender, two-spirit, third gender, genderqueer, non-binary, or any other. This paper will emphasize a comparative study of women of various castes in the Gaviyar village of Gujarat on the basis of various determinants in order to demonstrate the prerogatives and problems of women and present a new perspective on how caste dominance changes and affects women's role in the society.Keywords

Satisfaction in life is the ultimate goal of life. Satisfaction with life relates to positive outcomes of different domains of life like family, health, and job (Brief et al., 1993). In other words, how much the person likes his/her life which he/she is living is life satisfaction (Veenhoven, 1996). The present study explored the effect of mindfulness-based self-management therapy on life satisfaction among teachers. For the purpose of the study, thirty participants were selected on the basis of their low scores on the life satisfaction scale. Then nine weeks intervention was given to participants. The intervention programme of the MBSMT consists of four modules. In the first step awareness and acceptance skills were taught, the second step was about belief management, the third aspect of the intervention was related to the assessment of strengths and the last step was inculcating positive emotions. After the completion of the intervention the score on the life satisfaction variable was noted down. And analysis was made for the pre and post- assessment with the help of paired t-test, it has been observed that there is a significant difference in the mean score on the variable of life satisfaction among the participants. Further findings highlight the significant effect of mindfulness-based self-management therapy on the life satisfaction of teachers.

Psychological hardiness is a protective measure against life stressors that helps to enhance the individual's capability to combat various pressures of life with confidence. It is a combination of various attitudes that encourage and motivate the individual to turn the threats of life into opportunities for personal development. The present study aimed to examine the relationship between psychological hardiness and comorbid mental health problems among rural adolescents. For this purpose, 240 rural adolescents were selected from the four government schools of the Hisar district of Haryana. A self-structured General Information Sheet, Hardiness Scale by Bartone (1989) and DASS-21 by Lovibond and Lovibond (1995) were administered to selected adolescents to collect the required data. The data analysis revealed that psychological hardiness was negatively correlated to comorbid mental health problems among adolescents which indicated that a higher level of psychological hardiness leads to fewer mental health problems and better well-being. The findings of the study support the implementation of hardiness training programs that will boost the level of psychological hardiness among adolescents to combat the hardship of life with courage and confidence.Keywords
