Gasifier generates wastewater during cooling and cleaning of producer gas. This wastewater contains harmful chemicals which adversely affect the natural stream if disposed off without treatment. In the present work the effect of gasifier effluent on agricultural soil and vegetable production was studied. Experiments were conducted on seasonal vegetables like radish, spinach and tomato plant. Each plant was irrigated with gasifier wastewater and treated wastewater to study the effects of these waters and compared with control plants which were irrigated by tap water. After irrigation with gasifier wastewater and treated wastewater, different physico-chemical analyses of soil and growth parameters of plant were done. It was found that gasifier wastewater is not suitable for agricultural fields. It inhibits or delay growth of plants. But after suitable treatment, it can be useful for agricultural fields.Keywords

Solid Waste Management is one among the basic essential services provided by Bhopal Municipal Corporation. In the Present study GIS Arc View 3.2a has been used to find the shortest route for the transportation of Solid Waste. In this study it is shown that by the use of this software, efficiency of transportation of solid waste is increased to a great extent. The present study has thrown light over the areas where improvement can be done. It also suggests the suitability of technology for Bhopal city based on the quality of Municipal Solid Waste of Bhopal city.Keywords

Solid Waste Management is one among the basic essential services provided by Bhopal Municipal Corporation to keep the city of twin lakes clean. However it is among the most poorly rendered services, the reasons of which have been discussed in the present study and the remedial measures have been suggested. The administrative body, the Bhopal Municipal Corporation has failed to redress the growing problems of waste and sanitation with its poor infrastructural facilities and apparent mismanagement. With rapid growth in urbanization of Bhopal city, the situation is becoming critical over the years. The present study has thrown light over the areas where improvement can be done.Keywords

Biomass gasification is used to generate producer gas for the sustainable development. Now a days down draft gasifier is most widely used due to its characteristics like non production of tar production. Presently in India, few biomass based power plants are in use because of lack of knowledge and promotional policies of Government. Proper knowledge is essential for the smooth operation of biomass based power plant in full capacity. The main objective of the present study is to focus on the effect of moisture content on the gasification efficiency out of several influencing parameters of gasification technology.Keywords

Air pollution causes severe environmental problems and has become a major health risk for livelihood in Delhi. With increase in population, there is an increase in emissions from various utilities as well. The main source of air pollution is crop residue burning followed by vehicular and industrial emission. Crop residue burning during winter produces a thick cloud of smoke and causes major threats to human health by deterioration in air quality. This crucial matter was also discussed in the Indian parliament. The National Green Tribunal and various Courts of India have directed to the Delhi government and various concerned agencies to resolve the air pollution problem. The present study discusses human health safety caused by air pollution, analysis and mitigation of air pollution using suitable environmental policies and application of biomass energy.Keywords
