Survey was conducted to study the diversity, utilization pattern and indigenous uses of floristic diversity in Murari Devi and surrounding areas of Mandi disrtict in Himachal Pradesh. Ethnobotanical uses of 220 plant species belonging to 184 genera and 88 families were recorded. These medicinal plants comprise of 31 trees, 134 herbs, 50 shrubs and 05 ferns. From the total, 35 were near endemic to Indian Himalayan Region (IHR). The present study represents an area specific approach. Keywords

A Promising kind of ultra wideband (UWB) radio technique called as Transmitted-Reference (TR) UWB scheme is being widely used in various network technologies such as sensor networks. However, despite the simplicity in the architecture of TR UWB receiver, it is still dogged by implementation concerns. In particular, TR UWB receiver requires a large wideband delay element which is difficult to implement into low power integrated systems. Another kind of UWB technique called as Frequency-Shifted Reference (FSR) UWB scheme has been introduced which avoids the delay element. In this FSR-UWB scheme, the frequency translation of a wideband signal is implemented rather than the delay element. In this paper, the performance of FSR UWB receiver in an AWGN channel has been evaluated. A high data rate frequency-shifted reference (FSR) UWB system and its performance in AWGN channel have been investigated. We have proposed a FSR-UWB system assuming lower frame length to obtain high data rates. We have investigated and analyzed this system which not only overcomes the drawback of analog time delay used in TR-UWB system by taking frequency offset but it also provides improved BER results for high data rate applications. Hence, in this way, it can be used further in WPAN environment. Keywords

As far as security of data in text form is concerned it becomes necessarily important to use appropriate technique so that aim of security can be achieved. „Steganography‟ has proved itself to a greater extent that it can perform such a task successfully. Steganography deals with enclosing the message in an image privately. In this paper, a brief way of placing message bits in the image by replacing the pixel of image has been proposed with the help of Matlab. The information is unexpected to a third party rather than the sender and receiver which are hidden in the image using this technique. Keywords

Steganography is the method of transferring private information and data through open network communication, so only the receiver who has the secret key can read the secret messages which might be documents, phone conversations, images or other forms of data. In this paper, we have analyzed and implemented the art of steganography that how it works practically with the help of Matlab. In this way, a clear view of steganography method can be understood. Keywords

In this paper, the various technical aspects (such as image acquisition, imaging used, iris localization and pattern matching)used in Iris recognition technology have been discussed and elaborated. The three cameras can be used to capture the picture of the entire torso of a person in which one of the three cameras will capture the image of eye only including upper and lower eyelids. Then two techniques Near Infra Red (NIR) and Visual Wavelength (VW) can be used for imaging purpose. NIR is widely used as most of the people of world have black eyes, whereas VW is used for colored eyes. After imaging, iris’s picture is localized and ultimately the pattern of iris is encoded to generate 512 byte human bar code.

Long haul multichannel optical communication system is extremely affected by nonlinear effect like four wave mixing (FWM). The FWM effect depends on channel separation, number of channels and bit rates. This paper presents the design and performance analysis of FWM effect on bit error rate, Q-factor, eye opening, jitter etc. at variable bit rates and dispersion values. Keywords

Seismicity or seismic susceptibility implies proneness to earthquake incidence in a region. For this we cannot depend entirely on instrumental records, because this facility was almost unknown about 70-odd years ago, whereas the 'period of quiescence' between two successive major earthquakes in a region may be hundreds of years and sometimes more. This places a severe constraint on the understanding of the regional variability of seismic susceptibility or the proneness of any particular region to the occurrence of an earthquake. In such cases, the necessity is to look for evidence of palaeoseismicity in historic/pre-historic and archaeological records, and for much older events the different fault features preserved in geomorphic features. Here we cite an incidence of seismic event based on the examination of a large number of deserted early nineteenth century houses scattered around Jaisalmer region in western Rajasthan, India. Lying unoccupied for about 190 years or more, evidence of destruction is observed in each and every house, which is not generally witnessed in disused old houses standing for hundred years or more. Looking into the nature of collapse-related flattening features such as collapsed roofs, fallen joists, lintels and pillars in all these houses, we suggest that these are manifestations of earthquake-related destruction. Such an assumption finds strong support from the observed evidence of recent tectonic activities and from the observed ground movements along several major faults in the region covering Jaisalmer and the adjoining areas. Keywords

In computer network, to transfer the data from source to the destination there must be a known path which is calculated by the router on network layer by the process of routing. There are two types of routing Unipath and Multi path. In Wired network OSPF is used of unipath routing and extension of OSPF is used for multipath routing like edge disjoint or node disjoint but in wired network there is no algorithm which can calculate all the path in the network. To overcome this problem this paper proposed AllPath Algorithm which will find out all the paths in network. Keywords

Volatile memory forensics, henceforth referred to as memory forensics, is a subset of digital forensics, which deals with the preservation of the contents of memory of a computing device and the subsequent examination of that memory. The memory of a system typically contains useful runtime information. Such memories are volatile, causing the contents of memory to rapidly decay once no longer supplied with power. Using memory forensic techniques, it is possible to extract an image of the system's memory while it is still running, creating a copy that can be examined at a later point in time, even after the system has been turned off and the data contained within the original RAM has dissipated. This paper describe the implementation of the technique that collect volatile artifacts extracted from the RAM dump and Hibernation file of Windows 10 operating system and shows the extracted data of various process of the system.

We must thank Bahadur et al. for mentioning the date of what they consider as the ‘Great migration’. Our suggestion about earthquake-related devastation was based on the field examination of different villages where the Paliwal Brahmins lived. We presented some telltale evidence of destruction of houses made of blocks of rocks without using any cementing materials. The earthquake-related destruction features in the poorly constructed stone-block houses of Kuldhar and other Paliwal villages were similar to those destroyed during the Latur earthquake in the recent past, and at about 4000 years ago site at the historical Mohenjodaro.- Rapid Lake Level Fall in Pangong Tso (lake) in Ladakh, NW Himalaya: A Response of Late Holocene Aridity

Pangong Tso is a brackish water lake that lies along Pangong strand of the Karakoram strike–slip fault in arid Trans Himalayan region. The geomorphic mapping along the periphery of the lake suggested the presence of four palaeolake level strands located at 6, 4.8, 3.8 and 1.25 m above the present lake level. The gullied periphery expose relict deltaic sediments where sedimentological study enabled us to identify four deltaic lobes that make a classic Gilbert-type delta with well-developed top-set, fore-set and bottom-set. The top-set of the stratigraphically oldest delta lobe that corresponds to the highest lake level shows the presence of freshwater molluscs identified as Radix and a burnt sediment layer (hearth). The charcoal derived from this layer yielded 14C date as 1.7 ka BP and six luminescence ages from different delta lobes suggested that delta evolution and lake level fall of ~6 m took place between ~2–1 ka. Review of palaeoclimate record available from NW Himalaya and Pangong Tso suggests that late Holocene aridity might be responsible for this rapid lake level fall. Sclerochronological analysis carried out on 54 subsamples from three Radix specimens suggested that the modern type of seasonal conditions may have prevailed at ~1.7 ka BP.Keywords
