Background: World Health Organization (W.H.O.) has warned that India is the next hub for Cancer. Cancer annually kills four lakhs Indians. In developing countries, cancer ranks third as a cause of death and accounts for 9.5 % (3.8 million) of all mortality. Cancer is curable if detected early. The results of treatment in stage I and II (early stage)are about 80%.In late stage diseases (stage III and IV ), the results are less than 20%.In India, about 70%patients are in advanced stage, and are difficult to treat. By 2015, the number of new cases is expected to cross 15 lakhs. Objective: to analysis some of the epidemiological profile of Carcinomas and find the ways and means for prevention and control of the same Material and methods: Eightytwo confirmed cases of carcinomas were included in the study. Study variables: Age, sex and site of cancer lesions Findings and discussion: Out eighty two cases 60.97 % and 39.02 % were male and female respectively. As prostate is found in male only hence all 100 % cases were males while in cases of lump in breast ,out of nineteen cases 84.21 % and 15.78 % were female and male respectively. Regarding Goiter, each belongs 50 % cases to both sexes. Keywords

Back ground: Cancer accounted for 5 lakh death in India alone in 2005 .More than two thirds of all cancer deaths occur in low and middle income countries.
Objective: To assess the techniques of fine needle aspiration cytology and Imprint cytodiagnosis in thyroid cancers.
Study designs: four patients of thyroid lumps, attending O.P.D. of Hamidia, hospital, Bhopal were selected for the study. Convenient sampling was done .Patient’s detailed history, routine and special investigations as per need were carried out.
Statistical analysis: The analysis of data was done with the help of manual tabulation and for calculation of percentages.
Results: FNAC-The accuracy rate was 75 percent while in imprint cytodiagnosis an 100 percent accuracy rate was noticed.
Conclusion: The authors reached to the conclusion that F.N.A.C. save time, resources and patient anxiety. Admission for operation can be properly timed and the chances of missing thyroid cancers are much reduced. As there is paucity of data of imprint cytodiagnosis and in the present study too the sample was small so more study is to be done for getting comprehensive picture of the disease.

Depression has become a global problem seeking immediate attention tfom health practitioners and nutritionists. It is a mental disorder caused by a wide array of modifiable and non modifiable factors. People with depression exhibit mood swings, loss of interest or pleasure, disturbed sleep, feelings of guilt and poor concentration. Evidences have found a causal relationship between certain foods, physical inactivity, genetic factors and the development, progression and treatment of depression. In the past, most studies have only focused on the association of depression with specific nutrients or foods. But, the recent studies showcases that nutrition in synergy with exercise and adequate sleep can be far more effective in treating depression compared to when involved alone. This review summarizes the role of various macronutrients and micronutrients and influence of consistent exercise regimen in the neurotransmitter's synthesis and their regulation in influencing the mood and depressive symptoms of patients with depression. Although the efficacy of antidepressant drugs has also been well recognized but as prevention is better than cure, so is the role of these duo factors as a protective shield to pave away depression. Keywords

Floods in the Indian subcontinent have affected habitat, population, economy, etc. Due to the detrimental effects of recent floods on the economy, governance, etc., it is imperative to understand the associated dynamics, manifestations and fallouts for proper policy planning recommendations. The present study endeavours to provide an integrated rationale of meteorological and geomorphological aspects associated with four recent extreme floods in Uttarakhand (2013), Srinagar (2014), Chennai (2015) and Gujarat (2017). It is important to mention here that these floods occurred under different atmospheric circulations and geomorphological setting, and had an entirely different gambit for policy planning and governance. Consolidation of these issues will help policy planners and technologists, in case advance warning system based on these findings can be developed. Keywords
