Segmentation is one of the most important processes in the satellite image processing to retrieve most useful information from the satellite images. This paper proposed an effective fuzzy based method of segmentation of satellite images in YCbCr color space. The YCbCr Color space represents color as intensity and exploits the characteristics of human eye. Our eye is more sensitive to intensity than hue. The intensity component can be stored with greater accuracy as the amount of information to be minimized. The JPEG file format mostly uses this color space to discard the unwanted or unimportant information. In the proposed approach, the satellite image in RGB color space is transform into YCbCr color space and then the transformed satellite image is split into three different components (channels or images) based on luminance and chrominance. Subsequently Fuzzy based segmentation is applied separately for all three components for efficient segmentation. Finally the threshold is applied to extract the foreground (object) from the background. The experimental result reveals that the proposed fuzzy based segmentation method is efficient and accurate for extracting the necessary information from the satellite images. Keywords

Classification is one of the most important methods in data mining. These methods are used to extract meaningful information from large database which can be effectively used for predicting unknown class. The classifier based on decision tree is called Mixed Mode Data Base Miner (MMDBM) which is tested with different sorting techniques (merge sort, quick sort, radix sort) to compare the processing time to SLIQ classifier. In this paper, we carried out a comparative study on MMDBM classifier incorporating various sorting procedure by using Blood Pressure (BP) database, and finally the proposed method MMDBM classifier is one of the best classifiers among SLIQ supervised learning method. This proposed method achieved less processing time and higher rate of accuracy. Keywords

Questionnaire plays a vital role in conducting research. Construction of questionnaire is an art and needs more knowledge on subject, grammar and English language. It is one of the data collection tools and it is widely used in survey method. Online questionnaire is the gift of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT), which helps to collect, analyse, evaluate and interpret data through online. This study compared and evaluated the different services and features offered by the online questionnaire tools. Keywords

Science Citation Index (SCI) is a key database used by the research community in Indian Institute of Science. As this database was not available for access on the campus network, its offline usage was sub-optimal. To improve its usage we developed a profile-based E-Mail alerting service called Citation Alert Service. Every time an update database disc is received, the system automatically delivers, to the E-Mail address of individual faculty, details of his/her recent research papers indexed in the update disc, and papers that are citing his/her publications. Key issues to be considered in the system design are unattended processing of the update disc, and E-Mail delivery of downloaded records. We discuss in detail the design and implementation aspects of the system. E-Mail offers a convenient, fast and in-expensive mode of operating profile-based alerting services. Keywords

A new shunt active filter is proposed here to reduce the harmonic contents in source voltage and source currents of a harmonic polluted three phase system supplying a non – linear load. The shunt active filter is designed with multi level cascaded H-bridge inverter. To generate the required compensation currents multi carrier PWM Currents are extracted from the load power using Synchronous Detection Method. Simulation of the active filter with proposed current control and dc bus control is presented. The harmonic filter reduces the harmonic contents in source currents as well as the source voltage multilevel shunt active filter does not require an interfacing transformer to connect it with the high power system. It reduces the filter current ripples and improve source power factor. Keywords

In recent years telecommunication is playing a vital role in communication field. The power usage has become a major problem since the usage of wireless communication has increased, which has leaded to environmental impact in a drastic manner. The main goal of designing green base stations is for saving energy and reducing power consumption while guaranteeing service and coverage for users and ensuring the capability of base station for evolution. To reduce the energy consumed by base station sleep mode mechanism is adapted. For uplink and downlink communication a joint bandwidth and power allocation method is deployed which promotes energy saving for both network operators and mobile users. Thus, Green networking is to reduce the unnecessary energy consumption keeping environmental factors into consideration. This paper deals with the survey of the problems upon implementation of base station in cellular networks for heterogeneous communication and also compares the various work related to green networking. Keywords

The Communists started a labour organization under the name Tholilali and through that they tried to unite all classes of labour into an immense organization. When once completely organized under the guidance of the communists, they wanted it to be easily converted as the vanguard of the revolution. He wanted a few communists to organize until the organization became complete. They were expected to run the organization within the limits of legality Tholilali. Till the whole labours is effectively organized this organized was to pay its attention mainly to the economic problem of the workers, their education, their health and other immediate requirements, arranged strikes of small groups and called upon several strikes, etc. The communist activities were to begin among them while the slogery of socialism was maintained. The Communists in Tamil Nadu gave importance not only to the labourers but, also to the peasants and tried to organize them. Singaravelu was the first Communist leader to think in terms of organizing and uniting both the labourers and the kisans farmers of Tamil Nadu. He considered the peasants as the ally of the working class. His efforts in this direction were unique and pioneering in Tamil Nadu. The kisans had, all through the years, tried to exhibit a tendency to organize them to fight for their social upliftment. The first organized effort on the part of the peasants was attempted by the communists and the Socialists and a definite platform was created by them to ventilate their grievances. Efforts were started by the communists to mobilize the kisans. Singaravelu brought the labourers and the kisans under a single party. The work started by Singaravelu was strengthened by Amir Hyder Khan’s concrete programme to organize the kisans. To this member of eminent leaders like Kandasamy, Annaji, M. V. Sundaram, Jambunath Kaushik and others contributed a lot.

The segmentation of retinal blood vessels and optical disc is the most vital and challenging task to investigate the rigorousness of the various retinal diseases such as branch retinal vein occlusion. There are lot of methods and algorithms are developed to address this issue i.e., for the precise segmentation of optical disc and blood vessels. However, every method has its own pros and cons. Retinal vein occlusion (RVO) happens due to the obstruction (blockage) of veins transporting blood with required nutrients and oxygen to the nerve cells in the eye’s retina. An obstruction in any one of the four smaller branch veins is referred to as a branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO). It is one of the main retinal illnesses next only to diabetic retinopathy. Our proposed approach is a simple image processing based detection of optical disc and retinal blood vessels of branch retinal vein occluded fundus images. Keywords

Brain tumor is the abnormal growth of superfluous cells in central nervous system or brain. It is fact that brain tumor is second most common of cancer death among young people. There are two key categories of brain tumor as cancerous and non cancerous. The cancerous brain tumor is called as Malignant. It spreads very quickly and difficult to remove. The non-cancerous tumor, called Benign, growth rate is very slow as compared to malignant one and easy to remove. The work proposes a simple but more efficient method to detect and segment the brain tumor from the MRI image. The proposed work based on the threshold segmentation for the segmentation of the brain tumor. The MRI image of the brain is taken and processed in such a way so that the tumor is extracted from the given MRI image and displays the segmented part of the image which contains the tumor. The otsu global threshold performs tumor segmentation and image area opening applies to remove the small components form the tumor portion. The gray level co-occurrence matrix and other image quality measures computes (extracts) the features from the segmented image. Support vector machine classifier is finally classifies the tumor, either benign or malignant, based on the extracted features. Keywords
