The son has become the preference of the family even in the present modern society advanced technology. The present study was aimed to compare the attitude of the males and females towards gender difference. The study was based on the sample of 200 males and females selected on the basis of availability from urban areas of Rohtak. A self structured interview schedule was employed to conduct the survey for empirical data collection. The findings of the study are clearly indicating that the son is being more preferred by the females as compared to males. The preference for male child has been traditionally strong in India since historical time. However, India which is characterized by variations in its economic, social and cultural environment of sub-continental, proportions depicts substantial variations in the degree of son preference in different parts of the country. Son preference is quite strong in the northern plains as well as in central upland regions and it diminishes gradually as one moves towards South of the Satpura hill range and attains the low levels in Tamil Nadu. In the East, West Bengal, Assam and North-eastern states is seen a relatively moderate degree of son preference. There is also a pocket around Himachal Pradesh where the son preference is of moderate intensity (Bhat&Zavier, 1999).Keywords

The present study was aimed at studying a comparative study of aggression in State and District level sports persons of Haryana. (Body Builders) was measured with the help of aggression questionnaire by G.C. Pati (1977). Total sample of the study comprised of 100 sports persons (Body Builders) were consisted in which Group I consisted of 50 sports person of District Level. The Group II consisted of 50 sports person of State Level. Obtained data analyzed with the help off-test. Result showed no significant difference between state and district level sports person (Body Builders) on aggression has been supported. Results have been discussed in the light of previous studies. Keywords

Digital Signal Processing, Vol 3, No 6 (2011), Pagination: 304-307Abstract
Software radio is not a new technology but it has gained a lot of interest over past few years. SDR is a radio that derives its flexibility through software while using a static hardware platform, this feature has apparently made it a credible option for future wireless communications thereby making software radio a wireless communication device in which all of the signal processing is implemented in software. By simply downloading a new program, a software radio is able to interoperate with different wireless protocols, incorporate new services, and upgrade to new standards. In this paper we are discussing the issues involved in practical implementation of this approach. The first issue is the ability to convert from analog to digital (A-D) signals. If A-D conversion can take place immediately at the antenna, then all functions within the radio can be done digitally (i.e. in software). Second issue is the timing and synchronization required within the radio. It is required to handle the bit rate throughout the radio system which is a key factor in determining the performance of the radio. It is critical for maintaining the integrity of information throughout the radio. Third issue is the interface to RF transmission domain. Antennas propagate signals differently based on the frequency of the signal being transmitted and optimizing RF signal propagation is therefore frequency dependent. As it turns out, it is difficult to design antennas over a wide range of frequencies. This complicates the radio design as well as the antenna design, particularly if multiple input and multiple output antennas are used for art of the transmission process. Keywords

Internet usage has become quite common and highly frequent amongst the people at any age. There are studies indicating that chronic usage enhances some negativistic characteristics like anxiety, depression, loneliness etc. However, internet surfing is also a source of knowledge, thus boosting individual personality. Therefore, a study on the adolescents' subjects was conducted if internet usage is correlated with anxiety. Another parameter taken was self esteem. The selection of this variable was based on the preposition that enhanced knowledge should enhance the self-esteem. A total of 100 Ss were selected and given Self Esteem Inventory, General Anxiety Scale, and Internet Addiction Test. The age group was 16 to 20. The scores would be analyzed to find out the correlation of the amount of internet usage with anxiety and self-esteem.Keywords

The aim of the paper was to describe psychological treatment procedure for behavioural and conduct problems of children. Article focused on the parent-child relationship and the interaction between them. The importance of the family environment had been reported in all the behavioural problems of the children. Simple techniques are described to improve the bonding and interpersonal cohesiveness between parent-child. The assumption of this treatment program i s that all the problems of the children are usually caused by poor parenting and bonding between the childand parent. Keywords

There was a felt need for developing easy, affordable, accessible and transparent method of non-pharmaceutical nature for academic, personality, adjustment and emotional problems arising out of modernization and taking a gigantic shape day by day causing wastage of manpower. Hundreds of universities and institutes were producing a force of large number of councillors to meet the challenges. The methods taught to these prospective counsellors were from Western books based on dynamic model, to promote self (a western-self). A newer behaviour modification technique based on 'we-self' (family- self) configured with narcissistic tendency of the parents was developed to match with our cultural heritage. It included rescheduling of a number of routine activities of the client by the therapist, to be carried out by the subject while parents assuming the role of co-therapist in the process. It required history taking of activity client had been performing, availability of parental time at home and constellation of family. In this process subject is allotted certain activities to be carried by him to discipline his wondering mind and parents interacts with subject with smiling face, without showing anger or anguish in non-critical and non- argumentative mode with subject as a co-therapist. This process, promotes the acceptance of each other, perpetuating family-self thus improvement with practice was assured to come. Empirically this method of treatment had been found better than any other conventional methods with acceptance by the authoritarian figure of the family. Keywords

Abstract Views :183 |

Methods: This is an observational, retrospective study in COVID-19 patients followed from March to May 2021 who visited the clinic as outpatients. Among these, we included adult outpatients who presented approximately within 1 week of onset of symptoms suggestive of SARS-CoV-2 infection and confirmed by high resolution computed tomography (HRCT). The oxygen saturation (SpO2) levels considered for inclusion were <94%, further categorized into a moderate and severe infection. Patients were also radiologically categorized as having a mild, moderate, or severe disease based on computed tomography severity score (CTSS).
Results: Of 200 patients, based on the SpO2 levels and availability of HRCT reports, we included data of 46 patients for analysis. These data included 29 males (63.04%) and 17 females (36.96%), with a mean age of 51.13±14.03 years. Almost 63% of these patients had ≥1 co-morbidity, most commonly, renal diseases. All the patients had been administered treatment within 6 hours of presentation and followed up for 21 days. Of the 46, 10.87% (n=5) patients had a fatal outcome all with the severe disease based on clinical criteria. The mortality rate in patients with SpO2 <90% was 13.88%, while with SpO2 >90 there were no deaths.
Conclusions: Severe hypoxia in patients with co-morbidities is important factor associated with mortality. Multiple comorbid conditions are significantly associated with mortality. CTSS does not necessarily correlate with mortality or hypoxia level. Even in severe cases with SpO2 <90% recovery is possible in most patients with early initiation of therapy.
