In this paper, we use different types of polarization schemes to measure polarization mode dispersion in WDM system and analyse the BER, Q factor and Eye diagram of various channels. We investigate that if polarization angle can be controlled with the help of polarization controller at ellipticity=+45/-450, azimuth= 00 corresponding to right hand/left hand circular polarization then the overall results shows improvement of Q-factor and BER in case of odd and even channels of the system. The polarization mode dispersion in this mode is also lower than other polarization modes. Keywords

In this paper, we demonstrate a FTTH B-PON system with triple play broadcast catv 64-QAM at 1550-nm and voice over ip and high speed internet at 1.25GBPS data link at 1500-nm, downstream configuration with 1:64 splitting and 20-km reach. Our investigations aim at finding the cost effective solutions for fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network deployment. Ftth b-pon system using 64-QAM shows total attenuation from fiber spans and splitters is about 29.698 dB for data and for video is 29.296 dB and input power to the receiver is about -25.707dBm for data and for video is -25.520dBm. This article follows the progress in moving fiber toward the home using FTTH and major architectural changes that have reduced costs while increasing capabilities to meet today's needs.

In this paper an approach is made to describe the designing, simulation & synthesis of a high speed Digital Data Recorder using VLSI technology. The realization of the recorder which records high speed data (up to 20MHz) is done by using VHDL (Hardware Description Language). The synthesized design is implemented on a Field Programmable Gate Array by using XILINIX 4005. Hardware reduction, reprogrammability, RS-232C interface, single chip solution, high reliability, less weight, smaller size, calibration of number of parameters are the salient features of the equipment.

The major benefit of ATM is flexibility in transmitting communication services that have different traffic characteristics. In order to exploit this capability with high efficiency and still guarantying a required grade of service the problem of traffic control must be solved Traffic control is basically required when there is high degree of congestion. Congestion usually occurs when the input rate is greater than the total link capacity. All service classes in ATM are handled in same manner as a result design and dimensioning of ATM network has to be carried out according to quality of service requirements. Such an approach will lead to poor utilization of network resources. As a solution to this by queuing model all the cells from certain service class are assigned to the same class. The ATM network handles cells of different classes in different way to provide different services with different quality of service requirements.
