ICDS (Integrated child development scheme) is one of the best schemes for the improvement of nutritional and health status of children and women in India. In 1972, Planning Commission suggested the implementation of Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Scheme in all the States of India. Under this scheme, a package of services, consisting of supplementary nutrition, immunization, health check-up, referral services, health education and non-formal pre-school education is provided to children below 6 years of age and pregnant women and nursing mothers in the age group of 15-45 years in an integrated manner. The government of Karnataka started ICDS in 1976 since then the growth of Anganwadi in Tumkur district has been increased with 100 percentage of immunization reduction in IMR and MMR. The present paper focuses on the implementation of this scheme in Tumkur district in Karnataka.Keywords

Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) is a safe motherhood intervention under the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) being implemented with the objective of reducing maternal and neo-natal mortality by promoting institutional delivery among the poor pregnant women. The Yojana, launched on 12th April 2005, by the Hon'ble Prime Minister, is being implemented in all states and UTs with special focus on low performing states. JSY is a 100 per cent centrally sponsored scheme and it integrates cash assistance with delivery and post-delivery care. The success of the scheme would be determined by the increase in institutional delivery among the poor families. The Yojana has identified ASHA, the accredited social health activist as an effective link between the Government and the poor pregnant women. The study has clearly shown that Institutional deliveries increasing by JSY by covering majority (91.02%) of the eligible pregnant women and reducing maternal and neo-natal mortality rate. Majority (>71%) of the JSY beneficiaries were happy with the ASHA motivation to JSY and attitude, whereas, 36 per cent JSY beneficiaries were unhappy with Health Staff attitude. Majority (>62%) of the Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) beneficiaries were not happy with the Hygiene, Cleanness, Health services and after care in Government health centres.Keywords

The introduction of the community development programme (CDP) in the first five year plan gave a new dimension as well as impetus to the participation of people in development. Development implies on overall positive change in the physical quality of life. This positive change for the better encompasses economic as well as social aspects. In other words Development implies growth with justice;it means an improvement in the quality of life through better Health, Education, Housing and Welfare. Study reveals that majority (70%) of the elected members of Panchayat Raj Institutions (PRIs) were having low/less knowledge about Rural health programmes and their role in enhancing rural health services to community. It is evident from study was majority (46.66%), of the elected members educational level was middle school and High school level.Keywords

The research pursues an eminent theme of human resource management, "the co-operation and coordination of human resource activities in an organization". Importance of the HR-activities in an organization cannot be under estimated, as the HR-activities directly or indirectly influence the performance of the organization. The following research will study the co-operation and co-ordination among the staff of Horticulture Department towards achieves the objectives of the organisation. The study will also identify the reasons for conflicts and identify the solutions to solve them. The positivism along with qualitative method of research have been adopted for the study, data will be collected from primary and as well as secondary resources. Research will be pursuing the objectives of the study and will contribute to the vast subject of human resource management, namely the Human resource activities, co-operation and co-ordination among staff that influence on the organizational growth. The Human Resource function has evolved over the years from the labour officer, to the personnel officer, personnel manager and the human resource manager of today. The change in terminology also suggests a change in the objectives and boundaries of the function. The dynamic and competitive business environment resulting from globalization has led a new focus on how human resource should be organized and managed. This has led to the emergence and increase in the use of the term strategic human resource management (SHRM). There has now been a visible convergence between HRM and strategy. Human resources are one of the most important assets in the organizations. Human resources provide an organization a source of sustainable competitive advantage in a highly competitive environment, facing a shortage of talents.Keywords
