Abstract

Analytical studies of some selected physico-chemical parameter were made on the surface and underground water bodies at NTPC Sipat, Bilaspur. It is situated 20 km away from the Bilaspur city, Chhattisgarh. Both surface and underground water samples were collected from different sampling spot in the month of September'2010. Temperature, P^H, E.C, TDS, D.O etc. were analyzed instantly on the sampling spots while T.S, TSS, TH, Alkalinity, D.O, BOD, COD, Cl⁻,F⁻, SO^{4 2−}, NO3 ⁻, Fe etc. were analyzed in the laboratory of pollution Control Board, Bilaspur, C.G. It was observed that Temperature, P^H, Alkalinity, TH, DO, BOD, Cl⁻, F−, SO4 ²⁻, NO3⁻ and Fe have higher value than maximum permissible limit of IS: 10500. The elevated values of these parameters are of great concern to public health when the water from these well, bore well and hand pump are consumed by people without treatment. Commercial effluents polluted both surface and underground water bodies.

Abstract

The present investigation has been focused in Bishrampur and Bhadgao regions of Surguja Coal field area since these are major coal mining areas of Surguja district which are prone for ecological imbalance. The sampling method was based on primary and secondary data collection during the research study in three areas namely Coal mining area, Forest area, and Urban area. The water samples were collected in the month of November'2010 from hand pumps, tube wells and ponds, were considered under primary data collection technique and its Temperature, p<SUP>H</SUP>, E.C, T.S, TDS, TSS, Alkalinity, TH, D.O, BOD, COD, F<SUP>−</SUP>, Cl<SUP>−</SUP>, SO<SUB>4</SUB> <SUP>2−</SUP>, NO<SUP>3 −</SUP> etc. Were determined using p<SUP>H</SUP> meter, titration, water analyzer and spectrophotometer etc. It was found that deteriorating water quality due to mining, continued to ruin the health standards of local people, reduced the number of flora and fauna, reduced the agricultural land area and it constrained farmers to migrate, this led to increased entropy in ecology of Bishrampur and Bhadgao regions causing an ecological imbalance.

Abstract

Abstract

DMBA is a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon which may be used as cancer initiator and croton oil is used as cancer promoter in murine skin which composed of phorbol esters. Formation of stable DMBA-DNA adduct can lead to the induction of mutation that activate proto-oncogen or inactivate tumor suppressor genes as an important event during tumor initiation. In mouse skin the promotion process like increased cell proliferation, suppression of apoatosis and induction of the production of ROS and RNS that cause increase membrane lipid peroxidation and decrease cellular antioxidant stores. ROS plays an important role in the process of mutagenesis and carcinogenesis specially tumor promotion. The main aim and rationally of this ontological design is very potent for screening of new cancer chemopreventive agents as well as anticancer drug development.

Abstract

The compounds or substance which emit radiation and which are used in medicine area called radiopharmaceuticals. Radio opaque substances are those compounds (both inorganic and organic) that have the property of casting a shadow on x-ray films. Radiopharmaceuticals preparations are the preparations containing one or more radionuclides. Radionuclides are radioactive and transform spontaneously into other nuclides. The unstable nuclei undergo spontaneous nuclear changes in order to achieve stability by emitting radiation are called radioisotopes or radionuclides. The radioactive substances disintegrates or decays with the emission of certain particles or certain quantities of energy which is always characteristics of the isotope.The present article gives various ideas about radiations, radioactivity, radioisotopes, radio opaque and contrast media, radioactive pollution as well as quality control and also pharmaceutical applications of radioisotopes.

Abstract

Lead optimization employs a combination of empirical, combinatorial and rational approaches that optimize leads through continuous, multi speed process based on knowledge gained at each stage. The testing of analog series result in quantitative information that correlates changes in chemical structure to biological and pharmacological data generate to established SARs. The medicinal chemistry- lead optimization blends synthetic chemistry, molecular modeling, computational biology, structural genomics and pharmacology to discover and design new drugs and investigate their interaction at the molecular, cellular and whole animal level. The present pathways give mechanism of animal PK/PD/ADMEs highlighting the toxicity, formulation and delivery.

Abstract

The heavy metal levels as micronutrients like Iron (Fe), copper (Cu) and Zinc (Zn) were determined using Digital spectrometer in three different samples of leafy vegetables, purchased from Dharmjaygarh market in Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh. The maximum concentration of Fe, Cu and Zn were found 22.14 mg/kg, 0.72 mg/kg and 6.3 mg/kg in Palak Bhaji, Lal Bhaji and Palak Bhaji respectively. The minimum concentration of Fe, Cu and Zn were found 6.23 mg/kg, 0.21 mg/kg and 1.52 mg/kg. The relative abundance of metals in leafy vegetables followed the sequence Cu (0.52 mg/kg) < Zn (4.33 mg/kg) < Fe (15.58 mg/kg). The levels of Fe, Cu and Zn were below the FAO/WHO recommended limits for metals in vegetables. Low concentrations of Cu, Fe and Zn in all the samples are indications that these plants contribute no toxic effects of metals. The results showed that, these vegetables are the main sources of essential trace elements. The daily human intakes of metals have also been calculated which were observed below recommended values by the FAO/WHO.
