Abstract

This case study is focusing on the hard work of an Entrepreneur, Mr. Rajiv Kapoor for setting up his export house by the name of 'Affordable Exports' Pvt. Ltd. which is one of the premier Apparel Export Organizations in India established by in 1986. It is a design driven company specializing in Hi-Fashion Ladies garments. Affordable Exports is in the business of creating and manufacturing apparels for some of the leading names in the industry. They are Manufacturer, Exporter and Supplier of Garments and Fabrics with different designs in the following categories namely Woven/Knits Garments, Ladies Wear&Ladies Night Wear. The company has consistently grown over the past few years in product specialization, turnover, infrastructure, and portfolio management. The most important factor for its growth was the management of its Human Resources. According to Mr. Rajiv Kapoor, the most valuable asset for any organization is its human resources. Some employees are in the organization since the last 20 years and still performing very well. Mr. Rajiv Kapoor promoted this company in 1986 with a meagre amount of Rs. 5000 which he borrowed from his father for starting his own venture. He gave it the name of Affordable Exports so that buyers can easily relate to it for affordable prices. He managed to make a mark in this field of apparel exports with his hard work, commitment, dedication, innovation and timely delivery of consignments against all odds and without even support from the family in the core business activities. Though the company has already seen a lots of ups and downs, the future of the company looks promising in the export business by completing 25 successful years in 2011. The company's main strength comes from a professional management, a dedicated work force and a satisfied client base. Their strong infrastructure facilities and sophisticated technologies facilitate coordination in their work processes as the team of professionals is churning out unique ideas for styling.

Abstract

This is a case study on entrepreneurial spirit which drives a person to find her/his destiny in an unknown business venture. Ms Kanoi born with entrepreneurial quality, sharpened through training in fashion and Management courses in her graduation and Post graduation in Management, has been able to make use of her skills as designer combined with aptitude of management. She has been ably designed fashion bags and marketed them through most modern media e.g. social network sites e.g. email and face book to make a successful venture named as LOVETOBAG. Her strategy is to reach to the customer in the largest number, take their feed back and improve upon the design according to the their choices. She learnt all these business practices from her own experiences in her venture of LOVETOBAG. At present, she has been thinking about expansion plan for this venture . The main constraints of expansion faced by her are availability of the right manpower and finance.

Abstract

This Case study is focusing on the Out of the box Marketing Strategies used by an Entrepreneur, for his retail store which started in Connaught Place. Retail as the name suggest is a sale for final consumption in contrast to a sale for further sale or processing (i.e. wholesale). In other words, retailing is said to be the interface between the producer and the individual consumer buying for personal consumption. The entrepreneur was having a family business of currency exchange which was not doing fine so he decided and took a big risk of diversifying into an untapped area altogether by leaving his family business. He was a very ischolar_mained individual with a creative and an analytical mind frame as he was keen on taking calculated risk. He saw an opportunity for himself in the fashion industry and threw himself into the mix as a budding entrepreneur as he could not see himself working a monotonous desk job. He was fascinated by the area of Indian Ethnic wear and decided to take on the obstacles in front of him by doing a thorough Market Research before starting up his new venture. He diversified into a new domain of Indian Ethnic wear comprising of Sarees, Kurtis and Salwar Kameez which carries traditional Indian values along with a rich blend of fashion prevailing in the market these days. The Indian Ethnic Wear Market is growing at a fast pace as women are very keen on trying new ethnic wear varieties available in the market like Cotton suits, Designer Sarees, Salwar kameez, Kurtis, Anarkalis, Dress Material.
