Worldwide, the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are recognized as an "engine of growth". In India, however, it is necessary to refer to the "Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises [MSMEs)" on account of the significance of the micro enterprises, both in the total population of MSME and in the economy as a whole. The process of globalization has, on the one hand, opened the gateways of opportunities to the MSMEs: of closer interactions and access to much larger markets, to name only a few. It has, on the other hand, exposed the segment, particularly the micro, small and medium enterprises(MSMEs] in India, to the challenges of intense competition, both domestic and global.Full Text

Tobacco occupies an important place among cash crops grown in India. It is cultivated in a meagre area of 4 lakh ha which constitutes 0.27 per cent of the total arable land in the country. The production, on an average, touches 700 million kg of cured leaf annually. On global basis, India ranks first in respect of non-FCV tobacco production and fifth in area under FCV tobacco. Hyperlipidemia and high levels of reactive oxygen species in the body are key factors for the development of cardiovascular diseases such as atherosclerosis. The present study was designed to investigate the Hypolipidemic and antioxidant activity of an herbal concoction prepared from leaves of Artocarpus heterophyllus, Mimusops elengi and Talinum portulacifolium. Hyperlipidemia is induced in rats by Triton WR-1339. The concoction showed significant reduction in all serum lipid parameters, together the results showed increase in antioxidant levels and decrease in proxidant levels. Fortunately when histopathology of carotid artery is observed indicating that the concoction can also exert antithrombotic activity to some extent.Keywords
