Givotia rottleriformis Griff. (Vern: Tel-Tella Poniki), the White catamaran deciduous tree, is traditionally used in the toy industry. Due to regular cutting and over exploitation, this species has become endangered. Propagation of this species is mainly through seed and the natural regeneration of the species through seed is very poor. In order to enhance the seed germination percentage, the seeds were treated with different concentrations and durations of GA3. The results of germination evaluation after 36 hrs of sowing revealed the beneficial effects of GA3. (3%) over the rest with 90 per cent germination against 5 per cent in control. It was observed that the GA3. treated seeds showed the enhancement in germination and breakage of seed dormancy in the species. Thus the present methodology can be used for in-situ conservation of the species.- Pharmacognostical and Pharmacological Evaluation of the Polyherbal Extract on Rodents

Hyperlipedemic is the greatest risk factor for coronary heart diseases. It is characterized by elevated serum total cholesterol, low density lipoprotein, very low density lipoprotein and decreased high density lipoprotein levels. Methanolic extract of Terminalia arjuna (bark), Phyllanthus emblica (fruits), Withania somnifera (leaves), Convolvulus pluricaulis (whole plant), Piper betle (leaves), Allium sativum (bulb), Piper longum (dry fruits), Zingiber officinale (rhizomes), Tribulus terrestris (whole plant) and Cardamom (dry fruits) these herbs were tested against high cholesterol diet induced hyperlipedemic in adult albino rats. The therapeutic dose is calculated as 200mg/kg as per the toxicity guidelines OECD 423. Fenofibrate 65mg/kg is used as a standard drug. The methanolic extracts shows a significant decrease in the levels of serum cholesterol, Triglycerides, LDL, VLDL and significant increase in the level of serum HDL against high cholesterol diet induced hyperlipedemic rats. The results shows that the polyherbal extract possess significant (p<0.001) antihyperlipedemic activity suggesting the potential role in coronary artery disease and in hyperlipidemia. Keywords

In recent years, there is a great thread for security in our communication. With new technologies, it became easy for the hackers to steal our information or message in a communication medium like Gmail, Yahoo, etc,. To protect our information that we want to communicate with authorized persons, this application is developed. It is a desktop application (like Google Talk), that performs all the activities in mail (sending and receiving mail with or without attachments) that can be performed in a web browser. The application performs encryption while sending and decryption while receiving. The encryption process is done by the use of modified RSA algorithm. The encryption process will be made in the application and then the encrypted data will sent through the communication medium. Similarly, the decryption process will also be made only in the application. Mail(s) that are sent using this application won’t be present in a readable format in your Inbox. Those mail(s) can be viewed in the application only. This application will completely protect our message from reading by others, even if a third party person knows our mail password, the message won’t be leaked.

The inheritance pattern of epicuticular wax (bloom) locus in F1 and F2 generations of seven sorghum crosses involving a bloomless mutant, RS647 and bloom sorghum parents was studied during the post-rainy season of 2012-13. The plants were scored for bloom and bloomless expression at boot leaf stage. The study revealed that the five crosses BTx623 x RS647, 27A x RS647, 296A x RS647, RS647 x Swathi and IS22380 x RS647 segregated in 3 (bloom) :1 (bloomless) indicating the monogenic control of bloom locus in these crosses. The F2 of the cross Phule Maulee x RS647 showed a di-genic ratio of 13 (bloom):3 (bloomless) while RS647 x M35-1 cross segregated with 9 (bloom):7 (bloomless) di-genic ratio. The study indicated that the bloom expression is under the control of 1-2 genes based on the genetic background of the parents.

Energy saving is one of the key issues, not only from the viewpoint of fuel consumption but also for the protection of global environment. Large quantity of hot flue gases is released from boilers, kilns, ovens and furnaces. If some of this waste heat could be recovered, a considerable amount of primary fuel could be saved. One of the efforts has been made for heat recovery in Thermal Power Plants using rotary regenerators. The present study is on the performance analysis of rotary air preheater in a Thermal power plant. In this thesis, the performance of air preheater is evaluated based on the operating conditions such as mass flow rate and temperature of both air and flue gases. In this analysis the variation of Reynolds number, Colburn j factor and, Friction factor at the operating conditions are studied. The effectiveness of the air preheater is evaluated using Kays and London correlation and compared with the counter flow heat exchanger at the same operating conditions of air preheater. The variation of pressure drop, heat transfer coefficient, and heat transfer rate at different mass flow rate of air observed. Keywords

During the last years, the increasing research in power systems and the electrical engineering development around the world, has given an incentive to new expectations in transmission and distribution. The quality of power that is supplied is also gaining more importance.
Power harmonics are called electrical pollution which will degrade the quality of the power supply. As a result, filtering process for these harmonics is needed in order to improve the quality of the power supply. Generally passive filters are used to suppress the harmonics of specific orders. Separate filters are required to suppress individual lower order harmonics. These usually consist of a bank of tuned LCfilters to suppress harmonics. The passive filters are performing better in the presence of load. In the absence of load or light loading conditions the presence of passive filters resulting in poor power quality.
The Active Power Filters (APF) is used to reduce harmonics based on load variations. The presence of active filter is resulting in reduction of the harmonics to a specific limit. It is proposed to use single active filter in place of passive filters with the objective to reduce harmonic currents. It is proposed to use one cycle controlled APF for suppressing harmonics in the presence of nonlinear loads under different loading conditions and the performance is compared with PWM controlled APF.
