Two simple and sensitive direct visible spectrophotometric methods (M1 and M2) have been developed for the determination of Ropinirole hydrochloride in bulk and solid dosage forms. These methods are based on the reaction of drug with aromatic aldehydes such as Vanillin or Para dimethyl amino Benzaldehyde (PDAB) in the presence of sulphuric acid in non aqueous medium and formed colored condensation products with an absorption maximum of 560nm for method M1 and 660nm for method M2. The Beer's law obeyed in the concentration range of 5-20μg/ml for method M1 and 25-150μg/ml for method M2. The proposed methods are validated with respect to accuracy, precision, linearity and limit of detection. The suggested procedures are successfully applied to the determination of the drug in pharmaceutical preparation, with high percentage of recovery, good accuracy and precision. The results of analysis have been validated statistically by repeatability and recovery studies. The results are found satisfactory and reproducible. These methods are applied successfully for the estimation of ropinirole hydrochloride in tablet dosage form without the interference of excipients. Keywords

An industrially efficient method was developed to synthesize of tiaprofenic acid (5-benzoyl-alpha-methyl-2-thiopheneacetic acid) (1) which is a very important pharmaceutical compound having anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity. Sodium salt of propionitrile is reacted with 5-benzoyl-2- bromothiophene (4) to yield nitrile crude (5) and further hydrolysis to give tiaprofenic acid (5-benzoyl-alpha-methyl-2-thiopheneacetic acid) (1).Keywords

Two simple and sensitive visible spectrophotometric methods (M1 and M2) have been developed for the estimation of ropinirole hydrochloride (RPR) in bulk and pharmaceutical dosage forms. Method M1 involves Internal salt formation of aconitic anhydride, dehydration product of citric acid [CIA] with acetic anhydride [Ac2O] to form colored chromogen with an absorption maximum of 580 nm and the method M2 is based on the formation of green colored coordination complex by the drug with cobalt thiocyanate which is quantitatively extractable into nitro benzene with an absorption maximum of 625 nm. Beer's law obeyed in the concentration range of 8-24μg/ml for method M1 and 16-48 μg/ml for method M2. Commercially available tablets were analyzed and the results are statistically compared with those obtained by the reference method and validated by recovery studies. The results are found satisfactory and reproducible. These methods are applied successfully for the estimation of the ropinirole hydrochloride in the presence of other ingredients that are usually present in dosage forms. These methods offer the advantages of rapidity, simplicity and sensitivity and normal cost and can be easily applied to resource-poor settings without the need for expensive instrumentation and reagents. Keywords

Two simple and sensitive extractive visible spectrophotometric methods (A&B) for the assay of ropinirole hydrochloride in pure and dosage forms based on the formation of colored chloroform soluble ion-association associates under specified experimental conditions are described. Two dyes namely acidic dye Tropaeoline ooo (TPooo, method A), Azo carmine- G (ACG, method B) are utilized. The extracts of the ion-associates exhibit absorption maxima at 485nm and 550nm for methods A and B respectively. Regression analysis of Beer-Lambert plots showed good correlation in the concentration ranges (5.0-25) μg/ml for method A, (10-50) μg/ml for method B respectively. The proposed methods are applied to commercial available tablets and the results are statistically compared with those obtained by the UV reference method and validated by recovery studies. The results are found satisfactory and reproducible. These methods are applied successfully for the estimation of the ropinirole hydrochloride in the presence of other ingredients that are usually present in dosage forms. These methods offer the advantages of rapidity, simplicity and sensitivity and low cost and can be easily applied to resource-poor settings without the need for expensive instrumentation and reagents. Keywords

Two simple, rapid and sensitive extractive visible spectrophotometric methods (A and B) for the assay of venlafaxine hydrochloride in pure and solid dosage forms based on the formation of colored chloroform soluble ion - association associates under specified experimental conditions are described. Two dyes namely acidic dyes Naphthalene Blue 12BR (NB12BR, method A) and Bromo Cresol Purple (BCP, method B) are utilized. The extracts of the ion-associates exhibit absorption maxima at 620.5 nm and 430 nm for methods A and B respectively. Regression analysis of Beer- Lambert plots showed good correlation in the concentration ranges (4.0 -12.0) μg/ml for method A, (8.0-40.0) μg/ml for method B respectively. The proposed methods are applied to commercial available tablets and the results are statistically compared with those obtained by the UV reference method and validated by recovery studies. The results are found satisfactory and reproducible.
