WiFi and WiMAX are two popular wireless standards, where WiFi is a wireless LAN standard and WiMAX is a wireless MAN standard. WiFi (IEEE 802.11) provides coverage of few hundred feet whereas WiMAX (IEEE 802.16) covers a range of upto 40 miles. Nowadays multiple radios are equipped within a single device. One way to achieve high performance in a network consisting of such multi-radio devices is by splitting traffic over the multiple radios. Research work has shown that traffic splitting has a positive impact on network throughput. In this work, our objective is to split the data traffic dynamically in an ad-hoc network with such hybrid nodes equipped with WiFi and WiMAX radios. We have used Bee-Hive Routing Protocol to make routing decisions in the network and analyze the effect of traffic splitting on network throughput.Keywords

This study aims at examining the perception of library leaders and librarians about leadership competencies for academic library leaders and identifying the degree of differences in their perception. The study takes on a quantitative approach, involving a survey of library leaders and librarians at a Malaysian university library. Two separate questionnaires were designed based on an adaptation of the MySkillsProfile@2012 and Gorman’s Competence Inventory to examine what leadership competencies were considered to be most important among the two groups. The study found that academic librarians only possessed moderately developed leadership competencies and the frequency of leadership training courses, which are being conducted by an academic library in a year, is not adequate for them to acquire leadership competencies. The top five leadership attributes, as perceived by library leaders, showed little difference in the ranking of the competencies between the two groups. The adapted instrument developed from this study can be applied, tested and used to determine leadership training needs based on the perceived gap.Keywords

Background: The present work mainly deals with the study pertaining to the synthesis, characterization and evaluation of copper nanoparticles using avocado. The copper nanoparticles were synthesized by using a rapid, single step and completely green synthesis method.
Materials and Method: The synthesized copper nanoparticles were characterized by using various instrumental techniques such as ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV-vis), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) TEM (Transmission Electron Microscope). The synthesized copper nanoparticles were found to be spherical in shape with average diameter of 35.6 nm. The synthesized nanoparticle solution is primarily characterized by using UV-vis-spectroscopy, 3mL of the solution is taken in cuvette and scanned in double beam UV-vis spectrophotometer from 300 nm to 700 nm wavelength.
Results: In the UV-vis spectrum, a single, strong and broad surface plasmon resonance (SPR) peak was observed at 420 nm that confirmed the synthesis of AgNPs. Transmission electron microscope result showed 2-6 nm difference.
Conclusion: The present study shows that aqueous seeds extract of Avocado can be used efficiently for the synthesis of copper nanoparticles at room temperature. The synthesized copper nanoparticles were found to be stable at room temperature. The green synthesized method is convenient, eco-friendly and can be applied in various applications and the use of Avocado has added advantages that the plant has many medicinal properties.
