Background: Many people are affected by color blindness but most of them remain undetected as they simply adapt to the environment to certain extent and some remain unaware of the disease.
Objective: To find out the prevalence rate of color blindness in students of ages 6 years to 15 years, in various schools of Jalandhar.
Methods: A prospective study was done on 3259 students to identify the prevalence of color blindness. Students were examined with Ishihara Pseudoisochromatic Color Plates 38 edition. If the student was color blind, then it was further classified into its types. The data collected was complied and analyzed to evaluate the prevalence of color blindness, gender wise prevalence and prevalence of types of color blindness.
Results: Students of 12 schools were screened in the age group of 6 to 15 years. 3259 students were included in the study; 1683(40.44%) were males and 1584 (59.55%) females. Color blindness was seen in 61 students (1.89%) including 55 (1.69%) males and 6(0.184%) females. Among the color blind 56(91.8 %) were protanopes, 5(8.2 %) were deuteranopes and none were tritanope. Among the protanopes, 52(92.8%) were males and 4 (7.2%) were females and in deuteranopes, percentage of males affected was 4(66.7 %) and females was 2(33.3%).
Conclusion: Color blindness affects males more than females in this study similar to previous studies done. Protonopia is more common than deutronopia. Early school screening for color vision defect is recommended.

Everything is just a click away with the Internet. Due to numerous of software applications availability, conversion of physical media information to analog form has become much easier. Thus, to manage the rights of digital content by the intellectual owner or seller, Digital Rights Management (DRM) Systems were introduced. DRM authenticates the user, distributes the content and then control the access of user to ensure protection from violation of copyrights. DRM Systems are mainly used by Entertainment Industry to prevent piracy of music or movies, Software firms etc.

This observational study was conducted on 200 healthy preterm babies delivered in the department of Obstetrics and handled by the Neonatology section of Pediatrics department with the aim to study the breathing pattern in healthy preterm babies and to compare pattern of breathing with gestational age, birth weight and other relevant parameters. The breathing pattern was observed in all preterm babies starting from day 3 of life till the hospital stay. It was found that with increasing gestational age the incidence of Normal breathing increased while the incidence of Periodic breathing and Apnea decreased(table 1). Also a highly significant correlation between birth weight and breathing pattern was found with increase in incidence of periodic breathing and incidence of apneas in low birth weight babies (table 2). The incidence of periodic breathing in healthy Preterm infants was found to be 42% and rest 58% had normal breathing during the period of observation. The incidence of apnea of prematurity in preterm babies was found to be 5.5% (table 3).References

Depression has become a global problem seeking immediate attention tfom health practitioners and nutritionists. It is a mental disorder caused by a wide array of modifiable and non modifiable factors. People with depression exhibit mood swings, loss of interest or pleasure, disturbed sleep, feelings of guilt and poor concentration. Evidences have found a causal relationship between certain foods, physical inactivity, genetic factors and the development, progression and treatment of depression. In the past, most studies have only focused on the association of depression with specific nutrients or foods. But, the recent studies showcases that nutrition in synergy with exercise and adequate sleep can be far more effective in treating depression compared to when involved alone. This review summarizes the role of various macronutrients and micronutrients and influence of consistent exercise regimen in the neurotransmitter's synthesis and their regulation in influencing the mood and depressive symptoms of patients with depression. Although the efficacy of antidepressant drugs has also been well recognized but as prevention is better than cure, so is the role of these duo factors as a protective shield to pave away depression. Keywords
