Abstract
This study sought to determine the effects of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) to job stress, work-life balance and job satisfaction among employees in the IT industry. This paper made use of Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) in examining the impact of ICT to job stress and its indirect effect to the job satisfaction and work-life balance of employees. A total of 322 employees of selected IT companies contributed to be part of this study by completing the survey tool distributed containing the demographics and adapted survey questionnaire for the effects of ICT, job stress, job satisfaction and work-life balance. The appropriate model showed that the perceived effects of using ICT in the workplace reduces job stress felt by employees. Furthermore, it was also revealed that a lower job stress will lead to higher job satisfaction and higher tendency to balance work and personal matters. Findings of this study will encourage companies to invest more in ICT as a factor to reduce stress in the workplace and support the work-life balance and increase the satisfaction of employees by giving incentives or by organizing trainings and seminars.
