Abstract

The present investigation aimed at formulation, and performance evaluation of vesicular drug carrier system proniosomal gel for transdermal delivery of antifungal agent, griseofulvin. Proniosomal gel (PNG) formulations of griseofulvin were prepared, and characterized for vesicles shape, size, entrapment efficiency, and drug permeation across pig ear skin. The effects of different non-ionic surfactants on transdermal permeability profile were assessed. The optimized PNG formulation showed enhanced in vitro skin permeation flux of 3.682±0.186 μg/cm2/hr as compared to 0.028 ± 0.02 μg/cm2/hr for plain drug solution in water. Results indicated that the optimized PNG formulation of griseofulvin had better skin permeation potential than plain drug solution in water.

Abstract

Moringa oleifera is commonly known as drumstick. Traditionally it is uses as an antitumor, asthma, antibiotic, analgesic and free radical scavenging agents. There was no report on leaf part of plant and hence the present investigation deals with anatomical, microscopical, powder microscopy, determination of leaf constant, phytochemical parameters and extractive values. Phytochemical studies showed the presence of alkaloids, glycosides, fixed oil, flavonoids, proteins and steroids.

Abstract

In this paper traditional, clinical potential, ethanopharmacology, phytoconstituent studies and safety profile of Amaranthus spinosus are presented. Through this review auther wish to attract the attention of nature product researchers throughout the world to explore this potential plant systemically. Perliminary work has been reported on Antiprotozoal activity, Anti-inflammatory activity, Antioxidant properties, Anti-malarial activity, Analgesic properties, Immuno-modulatory properties, Haematology Properties, Antifertility activity, Anti-diabetic, anti-hyperlipidemic and spermatogenic effects. Therefore A. spinosus hold a great potential for in depth biological evaluation. Even, no work has ever been carried out for standaridizing this potentially useful plant.
