Abstract
Petrographic and petrochemical studies indicate the Ijolite to be somewhat magnesium-rich. The agpaitic index is very close to one and the magma is considered to be of an intermediate type (between miaskitic and agpaitic). The structural setting of the area is of the rift type, as the Panvel flexure occurs just a little to the west of the pluton.
