The aim of the present study was to compare the psychological well being and self esteem between the Indian classical dancers and non dancers. 40 Indian classical dancers and non dancers were selected using purposive sampling technique from various dance institutes. Ryff's psychological well being scale(1989) and Rosenberg's self esteem scale (1965) was used as tools for the study. The results reveal that the domains environmental mastery, personal growth, personal relations and self acceptance and autonomy of psychological well being are comparatively better in the Indian classical dancers than in the non dancers. Not only this, the Indian classical dancers showed higher level of self esteem than the non dancers. The findings of the present study can help to spread awareness of the positive impact of Indian classical dances on body as well as mind and to be more attuned to oneself.Keywords

Adolescence is that stage of developmental transition during which boys and girls move from childhood to adulthood, developing physically, mentally and socially. A genuine and goal oriented attitude during this transition phase proves fruitful in the optimum growth and development of young boys and girls. The purpose of the present study is to see Locus of Control as a predictor of Self Esteem and Academic Achievement of 60 school going adolescents (both male-female) belonging to the age group 13 to 17 years. The findings of the study can be implemented in the academic curriculum to foster better understanding of such psychological variables in developing well-functioning adolescents.Keywords

Being social creatures forming social bonds is something we're wired to do. In reality, social ties provide their own set of benefits. But when we consider marriages, we often get to observe different types of attachment styles between the partners. The entire bond and its stability are based on the attachment styles. Attachment is a very significant factor in determining quality of life of an individual. The emotional, physical, social and cognitive wellbeing of an individual could be studied through various factors including attachment and the type. Keeping these views in mind, the paper aimed at finding the effect of attachment style on the quality of life among married couples. The data was collected from 80 married individuals from different parts of India, employing the correlation research design to find relationship between attachment style and quality of life. The results produced distinctive evidence of correlation found between the variables of the study hence supporting the importance of attachment style in quality of life of married couples.Keywords
