Treatment of hyperlipidemia is important for prevention of many disease especially coronary heart diseases. It has been proven that 20% of all strokes and over 50% of all heart attacks can be linked to high fatty substances (cholesterol) and it can be reduced by increased dietary intake of antioxidants which is a vast source of plant extracts. In the present study the hypolipidemic activity of methanolic extracts of aerial parts of Quisqualis indica (QI) including flowers on cholesterol diet (PS) induced hyperlipidemia in rats had been evaluated. Hyperlipidemia was induced by cholesterol diet (dry coconut, milk powder etc.). The hypolipidemic activity was analyzed by reading the blood serum level in UV at 505 nm after treated with reagent present in auto span diagnostic kit. Dose of Methanolic extracts of QI had been prepared by using distilled water i.e. 100 mg/kg p.o and 200 mg/kg p.o. Methanolic extracts of QI significantly reduce the harmful lipid layer in blood serum at varying concentration which shows that the plant carries the hypolipidemic properties which was may be due to the inhibition of lipid peroxidation as the plants contain some active ingredients acting as antioxidants. Result shows that the plants extracts was more effective at 200 mg/kg whereas Atorvastatin (10mg/kg) drug is used as standard drug.Keywords

Allium sativum, family Alliaceae possessess antixidant, antimicrobial, antitumour, antimutagenic, antiinflammatory, antiviral and antiulcer properties. The aim of this study was to take the benefit of the nature of A. sativum extract and prepare shampoo incorporating in the herbal constituent base and evaluate this natural herbal shampoo. The herbal shampoo formulations comprising of aqueous extract of Allium sativum (5% to 30% w/w), coconut oil, castor oil, olive oil, fragrance were prepared and evaluated for physicochemical parameters and the results showed the production of stable herbal shampoos. The pH (6.22 ± 0.01 to 5.01± 0.02), percentage of solids (23.21± 0.02 to 25.41± 0.04), , dirt dispersion, surface tension (37.25 ± 0.45 to 39.87 ± 0.15), viscosity (6.5±0.2 to 5.4±0.2 ), skin irritation test ( no irritation) and visual stability .Formulations were clear, had good foam formation, foam quality and retention with proper rheological properties and skin compliances. The formulations with 10 % extract showed best results of evaluation parameters. The efficacy was in the range 10 % extract containing shampoo (F2) >5 % extract containing shampoo (F1) > 20 % extract containing shampoo (F3)> 30 % extract containing shampoo (F4).Keywords

Scientometrics have developed which is the scientific measurement of the work of scientists, especially by way of analysing their publications and the citations within them. Citations of the references in the publications give credit to authors whose work they use and avoid plagiarism. Impact factor is used for the relative importance of a journal within its field, with journals with higher impact factors deemed to be more important than those with lower ones. Ageing and hormones are inter-related terms playing crucial role in human's life. Dehydroepiandrosterone, commonly known DHEA, is among those hormones which directly interfere with the ageing process and its effects is remarkably visible. The role of DHEA in fighting against the signs of aging have been tested for a long time. Recent researches in the field of hormones and steroids has provided the researcher with new insights to investigate the potentials of DHEA and its sulfate esters in the field of skin aging complications. DHEA, which is an adrenal cortex hormone act as mediator in various biochemical pathways, essentially required for maintaining the homeostasis of the body. The present aim of this review is to focus on the role of DHEA and its sulfate esters in skin aging process and in its related disorders. The review also highlights different delivery systems available for targeting this drug to the desired site of action for better therapeutic activity.Keywords

Magnetics seems to serve as a common function of opening a new vista of a multi-barrier or multi-step drug delivery. It has been developed that magnetic drug targeting is an efficient means of localizing toxic or labile pharmaceuticals in a preselective site. A number of novel drug delivery system have emerged encompassing various route of administration to achieve controlled and targeted drug delivery, magnetic microspheres being one of them. This means of targeting has been exploited to achieve proper drug levels, enhancement bioavailability, localizing the effect of biopharmaceuticals and avoidance of toxic manifestation.
