The last leg of the Eelam war that ended in May 2009 and its aftermath were widely covered by the mainstream media across the globe. As 'Eelam' is an issue close to the heart of the Tamils, especially those in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, the researchers ventured to perform a content analysis of editorials and columns published in the Tamil daily 'Dinamani' from January 2009 to January 2011 to find out whether the newspaper reflected Tamil sentiments. While investigating how Dinamani handled the end of the LTTE regime, the study revealed that the editorials and columns exposed violations of human rights by the Sri Lankan government and its armed forces. This study also found that the paper was highly critical of the role played by the Indian and Tamil Nadu governments during and after the war. In its opinion, the two governments were inefficient and unsatisfactory, with regard to dealing with the Sri Lankan Tamil issue. Keywords

Many teachers use ICT to support traditional learning methods, for example, information retrieval in which students are 'passive learners of knowledge instead of 'active producers able to take part in the learning process. Teaching and learning with ICT can promote educative skills. In the pace of new technological development adoption of innovations and improvements lead to the betterment of students learning. The present study aims to measure the awareness, usage and skill level of Information and Communication Technology for Teaching and Learning among teachers in Higher education. A case study at PSGCAS, Coimbatore suggests that teachers' abilities are satisfied in promoting e learning because of the students' involvement in ICT; it gives way to easy access, storage, usage etc. There is a need for professional development activities. Regular monitoring and evaluation and feedback loops should be established. The adoption and usage of ICT tools pave way for an effective ICT learning environment and also make them to work in groups with students and researchers. Keywords

E-health system in India as well as in other countries is confronted with growing demand for medical treatment and services. The medical records must suitably have all of the medical history of the patients. Medical doctors should have proper records, since this can help doctors as well as patients in various situations. The present investigation attempts to unearth the usage and effects of Information and Communication Technology among medical doctors in the field of medicine to enhance their profession in Tamil Nadu, India. In this endeavor, the primary task of the researchers is to apply the appropriate technique to identify individuals, who will constitute the sample for the present study and also develop a reliable instrument to measure the perception of the respondents and the uses and effects of Information and Communication Technology in the field of medicine. The researcher is bestowed with the onerous task of identifying the right samples that are medical doctors and the right place where they work (government, private and own clinic) to collect reasonably representative data. This deals with the procedure adopted for developing the psychometric instrument (questionnaire), which has been used to elicit information on the uses and effects of information and communication technology by the medical doctors in the field of medicine. The results of the study reveal the major patterns of the usage of medical database management system. However, the stage also points out the grey areas, especially in the government sector, the need for proper implementation, diffusion and adoption of ICT.Keywords

This study aims to investigate the association of ICT tools with medical doctors for their professionals. A total of 427 respondents from Tamil Nadu state were surveyed using questionnaire method. The aim of this research is to examine the adoption of ICT by medical doctors in the field of medicine to enhance their profession. Since, India is one of the fastest developing nations in the world; India has understood the potential of diffusion of ICTs in the e-health for its rapid growth. This study also found that age, gender, education and occupation has statistically significant association among the adoption of Information and Communication Technology. Keywords
