Abstract

The present study was aimed to find out the relationship between emotional intelligence and satisfaction with life among the govt, secondary school teachers of Haryana. The participant were 150 govt, secondary school teachers selected from different govt, schools of Haryana. Teacher self-efficacy has been examined with help of Emotional Intelligence Scale by Schutte et al. (1998) and Satisfaction with Life has been measured with the help of Satisfaction with Life Scale by Diener et al. (1985). The findings from regression analysis show that emotional intelligence positively correlated with satisfaction with life and emotional intelligence is good predictor of life satisfaction.

Abstract

The high quality teachers and education in any country of the world have been very essential part of the different civilization of the world in historical perspectives, so the level of satisfaction of teachers towards their job is very important to study. The present study was aimed to find out the relationship between quality of work life and job satisfaction among the govt. secondary school teachers of Haryana. The participant were 100 govt, secondary (high) school teachers selected from different govt, schools of Sirsa and Hisar, Haryana. Quality of work life has been examined with help of quality of work life scale by Dhar, Dhar and Roy (2008) and job satisfaction has been measured with the help of job satisfaction scale by Singh and Sharma (1999). The findings from regression analysts show that quality of work life(QWL)is positively correlated with job satisfaction and QWL also is a good predictor of job satisfaction among teachers.

Abstract

The present study was aimed to find out the relationship between teacher self-efficacy and job burnout among the private school teachers of Haryana. The participant were 150 private school teachers selected from different private schools of Haryana. Teacher self-efficacy has been examined with help of Teacher's Sense of Efficacy Scale by Tschannen-Moran and Hoy (2001) and job- burnout has been measured with the help of Maslach Burnout Inventory- Educator survey by Maslach, Jackson and Leiter (1996). The findings from regression analysis show that teacher self-efficacy is negatively related with emotional exhaustion and depersonalization but positively related with personal accomplishment.

Abstract

The banking sector in India has undergone tremendous changes with increased competition, increased levels of deregulation, which has facilitated the Indian banking system and has placed enormous pressure and has created stress in the bank employees. The purpose of the present study is to investigate the perceived stress level of bank employees from public and private sector of district Sirsa, Haryana. Another objective is to see the gender difference in perceived stress among bank employees of public and private sector banks. For this purpose, our methodology entails a survey of 50 public and 50 private sector bank employees Sirsa district of Haryana, whose responses are measured on Cohen's perceived stress scale. The sample consists 50 male and 50 female participants to find the gender differences in perceived stress. For the analysis of the data, descriptive statistics and t-test are used. The findings of the study suggest that private sector bank employees have higher stress in comparison to their counterpart employees from public sector banks. Regardless to their sector i.e. public & private, the female bank employees show higher stress level than male bank employees.
